Furtherset, the musical project of Venice-based composer and visual artist Tommaso Pandolfi, debuts with his first album for Kohlhaas, the sixth in his career, 'Wounds of Melody'.
A layered image of devastation and beauty, where Renaissance tears merge with the incandescence and violence of phosphorus, the artwork is the first encounter in the emotional itinerary that unfolds in the five tracks making up the LP.

Over its forty-one minutes, the album's beatless but mesmerizing promenade is punctuated by mute, eternal and unexploded melodies. Awaiting and ineffability stand as the compositional pillars of this spellbinding cycle, where each chapter serves as a model and measure for an innermost tour of heartstrings.

A sense of stasis pervades it, anticipating the arrival of something extremely fragile and tender, until a fracture transforms this expectation into great walls of sound. Opposing gravities clash and melt into each other: delicate pads, dislocated echoes, detuned wavetable swirls and stretched leads all converge towards a frail singularity. This sonic rapture vanishes as it appeared, flashing back to the melody, the bass line, and the subtle synthetic timbres, repeated and bit by bit modulated from the beginning, finally eclipsing into evanescent codas.

Through the repetition of structures that gradually rarefy over time, 'Wounds of Melody' aims to evoke and unlock possibilities, echoing Clarice Lispector’s idea of «suppressing facts and privileging sensations.»

Active since 2011, he has released several albums and EPs on the Swiss label -OUS, including “Auras” (2022) and “The Infinite Hour” (2023). The 2025 album "Wounds of Melody" marks his debut on Kohlhaas. 
His music has been presented at festivals and institutions such as Club To Club, Bad Bonn Kilbi, Triennale Milano, Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi, Istituto Svizzero, MACRO.

This mixtape brings together pieces by artists from Peru, Colombia, Mexico, and Bolivia who use pre-Hispanic and traditional folk instruments.
 Many ancient musical instruments and sound objects from pre-Columbian cultures have been studied through their acoustic possibilities, opening up an entire universe of sonic exploration. Whether through acousmatic electroacoustic compositions, collective creation in improvisational ensembles, approaches rooted in orally transmitted music, or scores written for contemporary music ensembles, in all cases these instruments are much more than a return to the past — they are tools that open up new sonic perspectives.

This is an episodic mix soundtracking the second hour of Akira Kurosawa's 1990 film Dreams. The back half of the film is broken up into four dream sequences: Crows, Mount Fuji in Red, The Weeping Demon, and The Village of the Water Mills. Each sequence takes on a unique sonic palette, from pastoral ambient and gentle synth music to hypnotic drone and leftfield selections.

Andrea Vanzo is an award-winning musician and composer based in Bologna, Italy. His music often evokes a nostalgic and warm atmosphere developed through a post-minimalist style. He merges modern classical with elements of the pop soundscape to create a new cinematic musical language. 

“Intimacy Vol. 1”, a collection of piano solo works, was released in October 2022 .  The album draws inspiration from places that have an emotional relevance for Andrea: his home surrounded by nature and the beautiful landscapes around Italy. Relationship between humans & nature, love, feelings and freedom of expression are the main themes of his music.

In February-March 2024 he went on tour for the first time in Europe with only eight concerts, all sold out, in London, Paris, Berlin, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona.

Also in March 2024 he was awarded at the prestigious G.A.N.G. Awards (Game Audio Network Guild Awards ) in the United States for his cover of “Song of Storms”, released with Decca Records US. 

His music has already reached millions of listeners on social platforms and he is currently one of the top influencers in modern classical genre with a growing fanbase of over one million followers on Instagram.  

Andrea Vanzo will be touring again very soon and “Intimacy Vol. 2” will be released sometimes in 2025.
