i read once that the human mind never runs out of storage space -- we forget only what we cannot retrieve. pointers (*) index the world in RAM - we carry them in pockets & phone cases & microphones. throughout our time-paths - unable to collapse the infinity of a moment to megabytes, we form indices of what we cherish. our pointers are the time we can hold in our hands. we turn time on it's belly & peer into into crevices to find what we hold so tightly. but what is lost in this fallacy, & what do we find in its place ?

About Yuu Udagawa

Tokyo-based Yuu Udagawa inspired by a diverse range of genres, including Nu-Jazz, Kraut Rock, Hip-Hop, Minimal House, Detroit, and Electronica, is continuously exploring a unique style that captivates a broad audience. Her profound love for the sounds of analog synthesizers breathes an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere into her electronic sound. Her music offers a captivating fusion of uplifting and soothing elements, embodying Aristotle's philosophy of the golden mean, which she adopts in her endeavour to contribute to society. 
Yuu, who studied art and philosophy in high school, has since performed at clubs, festivals and fashion shows and is now a regular in the lounges of five-star hotels like the Park Hyatt Tokyo, showcasing her versatility as a DJ. Drawing on her insights and extensive experience in creating musical atmospheres in various spaces, she continues expanding her musical creation journey. 
In 2010, she composed "Blossom," the main menu BGM for Sony PlayStation 3 (Torne and Vita), captivating gamers. After that, she released several tracks for various projects. In 2021, her music caught the eye of German artist Manuel Tur, leading to her music being released through prestigious labels such as Compost Records in Munich, Germany, Cyphon Recordings in London, founded by Jimpster and Tom Roberts, to the up-and-coming Cosmocities Records in Dijon, France, and the popular Razer- N-Tape in Brooklyn, USA. These collaborations have boosted her international visibility. She was invited by Freerange Records in London to deliver a DJ MIX on Apple Music to celebrate International Women's Day 2024. 
Beyond music, Yuu creates immersive soundscapes for various spatial environments, such as museums, installations, spas and aquariums. Her portfolio boasts remarkable achievements producing 7.1 channel surround sound for 3D hologram theatres. One of her notable works is her sound installation 'Water Crest', an immersive audio experience by Sony's 360 Reality Audio, which was exhibited in Japan's first immersive museum, which featured masterpieces by Monet, Degas, and other Impressionists and drew in 170,000 visitors.

Experience the high strangeness of plant music—plants that “sing.” For years musician Nico Georis has used biofeedback instruments to connect a variety of flora to analog synthesizers, letting their biodata create music that is strange and existentially gorgeous.

Nico’s work in plant music happened during a six year span, and was set in motion by a simple desire to find a fresh supply of long-form ambient music for relaxing to at home. After a chance encounter with an obscure technology dating back to the 70’s allowing plant electricity to be converted to MIDI data, Nico began experimenting with using his house plants to generate endlessly evolving ambient music. “I was looking for music that I couldn’t find, and I realized the plants & I could make it.”

Here was an opportunity for another type of ambient music, one not born of the human brain, to emerge. A music that moves beyond human thought forms all together, and leans deeply into the green. Culled from hundreds of plant songs recorded between 2016 - 2022 both at home and in the wild Plant Music Vol. 1 and 2 represent the “greatest hits” of Nico’s plant music years.

Plant music Vol. 3 marks the newest installation, showcasing music generated from psilocybin mushrooms, known by many as “Golden Teachers”.

"This music is created via an artistic translation of electrical biodata into musical data. Two mushrooms and the mycelium connecting them are hooked-up to sensors, and their fluctuating electrical conductivity is translated into an equivalent flow of music notes (MIDI). These notes are then filtered into musical scales and routed into synthesizers that generate tones.

These recordings have been arranged into a variety of solos, duets and trios. They reflect what we feel are the most fascinating and beautiful examples of psilocybin mushroom music, straight from the tub."

Nico Georis is a keyboard player, producer & songwriter from California. He produces music from his studio at Granny's Dancehall in a ghost town amidst the wilderness. His music, a unique amalgamation of global influences, presents an imposing total aesthetic that is all his own.

‘Tunnels’ begins with a flurry of drums before being enveloped by sub-bass pressure, like stepping directly into a basement club in full flow. As the track climaxes, saxophones sweep the air like green-spoked lasers overhead, creating a contrast of pinpoint clarity against the background atmosphere. Though sonically well outside Bristol’s dubstep legacy, it accurately portrays the smudged perception of a peak time rave. On the flip, we find the more introverted 'First Light', wherein the group downshift from the buzz of a bustling room to the hum of one’s head as dawn breaks. It is a moment of spacious solitude shared only, as Cunningham pictures it, with “swans fighting over polystyrene chip boxes” in the canal below.

Ana Roxanne is an intersex Southeast Asian musician based in Los Angeles. Born & raised in the Bay Area to immigrant parents, Ana's love for music and singing began through her mother's cd collection of 80's/90's R&B divas. Raised in the catholic church, she became a devout choir nerd and found any opportunity to sing, whether for religious mass, the jazz ensemble of her catholic high school, or karaoke at family gatherings. Her commitment to singing led her to a brief stint at a vocational jazz program in the cornfields of the midwest; in a remote town of 7,000 people, she began a formal study of jazz and classical music. During these years she would tour with her jazz and chamber ensembles to beautiful old cathedrals in nearby cities and became enamored with the sacredness of choral music, as well as the enveloping sound of harmony. 

A near death experience, too, served as a connection between music and spirituality, and music as a healing art after facing tragedy. 

In 2013, Ana was also fortunate enough to spend a few months in Uttarkhand, India where she met an incredible voice teacher who introduced her to classical Hindustani singing. Living and studying with this teacher deeply impacted her outlook on the voice as art. It was there that she began to see the singer - the Diva - as a symbol of divinity; that the unique power of one's voice comes from the vulnerability of using the body as an instrument. Be it romance, love, or worship of a deity - in order to access such depths of emotional expression, one must be willing to be intensely vulnerable, lay one's heart in the open air, expose what is kept hidden. This brief study was the catalyst that led her to finish her music study at the experimental Mills College in Oakland, CA, where she began to combine all of these influences into her current self-titled project. This album ~~~ was created during her last years residing in the Bay Area, a tribute to the great musicians who inspired her and the landscape where she spent her formative years. 

In addition to the worship of R&B and pop divas, Ana's current practice explores themes of gender & identity. In October of 2018, she decided to come out publicly as intersex, and is dedicated to being a voice for her community and speaking out about social justice for intersex youth.
