In 1999 Ferry Corsten was asked to do a remix of the U2 classic "New Year's Day". The result was a great trance remix, that got a lot of great response on the dancefloors worldwide. Even U2's Bono made a phonecall to Ferry to thank him for the great remix he did.

Because of several issues, Ferry's remix did not get a release, so only a few lucky DJ's (such as Tiësto, Armin van Buuren and Paul Oakenfold), had a copy of the remix and they always did play it in their sets during New Year's.

In 2008, U2's album "War", got a re-release, including a bonus CD with previously unreleased material. U2 decided to include the Ferry Corsten Remix of "New Year's Day" as well, so after almost 10 years, the remix finally is available!

It was Neurodance's birthday -- and holy hell did we ever celebrate in style! Toronto brought the extra stomping thunder to tear the place apart! Two years of unstoppable industrial brought to life with the most amazing community!

Brand new fresh tracks barely a few days old, timeless classics, and tracks that have become Dreamstate staples. I'll be honest -- I wasn't so concerned with mixing -- I was trying to slam out these tracks as intensely and rapidly as I could. After all, you guys were freaking *devouring* them and turning them into unstoppable dancing energy! I could barely keep up!

Now THAT'S a New Year's party. Awesome people. Awesome vibe. Just pure, adulterated, corrupted, awesome! 

Some of the mixing on this one was much like my state of mind for the entire evening -- sloppy and messy. But this one was just plain fun. In rallying people's enthusiasm in advance of the night, I made mention that this set was going to be rife will a lot of angsty and angry estrogen.
