It's basically about getting out of your comfort zone to look at the world from a new perspective.

The point of the song was my realisation of the bleakness of everything. Life itself is repetitive, and you're never gonna know when it's end, and it eventually will even if it feels like it's going to go on forever. That was kind of my point of this song, which I tried to articulate sonically.

This Place Never Looked So Dark (POD CA1)

had that bassline since the end of the subsonic eye tour and i wanted to write a bedroom pop song with that line but it didn't end up sounding as happy/pop-y as what i had in mind.. but honestly not that mad at this version..
