Sein Name ist B. TOM B. Im Auftrag seiner Majestät unterwegs, steht das B. bei ihm weniger für Bond, als vielmehr für Beats und Bässe. Seine Sets sind gemixt wie ein guter Martini: die Einen werden von seinen Tracks geschüttelt, die Anderen sind von den Vocals und Melodien gerührt. Seine brandheißen Missionen erfüllt er immer stilsicher und mit vollem Körpereinsatz, so dass auch die Bondgirls nie zu kurz kommen.

Nach über zehn Jahren hinter den Decks kennt sich TOM B mit allen Schurkereien des Nachtlebens bestens aus und hat so stets die richtigen musikalischen Waffen zur Hand. Die Endstation in Leipzig war für ihn 2001 das erste große Abenteuer, dem von da an viele weitere folgen sollten. Alles andere als eine Endstation also für ihn. In Sachen House und Electro hat er im Verlauf der letzten Dekade sämtliche Moves und Skills erworben, so dass er auch auf ausweglos erscheinenden Dancefloors mit seinen "Goldfingern" immer wieder ein actiongeladenes Feuerwerk zu entfachen weiß.

Der Wandel ist die einzige Konstante und nur der Himmel das Limit. In diesem Bewußtsein durchtänzelt TOM B seit der Jahrtausendwende recht virtuos die Szene - und bleibt dabei doch immer auch ganz er selbst. Stetig neue Missionen bringen stetig neue Abenteuer und immer wieder weiß er alte Fans aufs Neue zu begeistern, aber auch ein junges Publikum zu fesseln, um am Ende der Nacht alle Beide mehr als gut unterhalten und glücklich in das Morgengrau zu entlassen. Only diamonds are forever - und TOM B ist einer davon.

VIVa Music's Detlef is on the first show in 2014. He talks with Dan about his start in electronic music 20 years ago and of course his fairly odd choice of a stage name. Detlef's mix is dense and funk-driven and shows a high amount of skill level.

In a spontaneous and electrifying turn of events, Magician On Duty and Dario Klein have unveiled the full recording of their unforgettable 7-hour b2b DJ set from this September at Zum Scheuen Reh, Cologne. This rare marathon set captures two artists in their creative element, free from the usual time constraints and expectations that come with typical club or festival performances.

"For me, as an artist, it's a gift to play for such a long time without any limits on creativity," said Magician On Duty. "What unfolded that night was pure magic – just two friends exploring new sounds and feeding off the energy of an incredible crowd."

The set, which zigzags through a wide range of musical genres, reflects the duo's deep connection with both the audience and each other. "Most of the time, the magic happens when there's no plan," continued Magician On Duty. "We simply followed the vibe of the room and trusted the process."

Listeners can expect a wild ride through uncharted sonic territories, with tracks that might never see the light of day in a traditional club setting. It's an exploration of music without boundaries – and a rare glimpse into the art of DJing without a map.

The conceptual experience from Damian Lazarus and his team of dedicated and visionary musicians and artists lies just three short days away. In speaking to Defected recently about what fans can expect, Damian says: “Partying has actually become quite safe; you buy your ticket to an event and can pretty much imagine exactly how it will pan out before you walk through the door. I love the idea of creating something where there is an uncertainty; where there is room for the element of surprise... some kind of danger and mystery. I think Day Zero offers these exciting qualities.” The genesis of this was a spiritual experience that followed a conversation with a Shaman on the beach in Tulum where Lazarus raised his hands to the moon and felt the presence of an “electric force field.”

Considering this, it’s hard not to feel the hairs on the back of your neck start to tingle as you imagine what is to come. The feeling that accompanies dancing with your favorite friends and strangers to the underground’s best artists amongst ancient pyramids constructed by a race of people who felt their calendar didn’t need the ability to forecast past the day in which the event will take place surely won’t be something we’ll ever forget.

In advance of this fantastic, magical adventure, which at one point felt too far in the future to feel real, Thugfucker and Shaun Reeves have graciously teamed up to put together their Timewave(day)zero podcast which seems an appropriately deep and introspective aural journey of introspective reflection. For this mix he's layed down a 'Brit Funk 1977 - 1982' mix, returning to a period of music that was an important part of his life growing up. Music from independent labels, some run by record shops, like the first track by Cache on Groove Records. This is followed by the classic 'Trip to your mind' by Hudson People, a record that a 15 year old Gilles Peterson caught from them in the crowd at a Purley all-dayer.
