Grammy winner Karin Park’s latest release sees her collaborating with ‘Pandora Drive’, an outfit comprised of renowned photographer and filmmaker Thomas Knights (who achieved recent stratospheric success as the creator of the ‘Red Hot’ project appearing on The One Show and global news channels) and DJ and producer Nick Sheldon Hurricane’ , includes remixes from heavyweights Booka Shade, Maya Jane Coles and Barber.

Park is an artist and singer famed for her innate ability to captivate crowds with her live sets and leave dance floors across the globe yearning for more. This new offering is plucked from her forthcoming album ‘Apocalypse Pop’, due for release on 2nd March 2015, which will mark another chapter in her career of sonic experimentalism.

Park says, "I’ve been following Pandora Drive at very close range pretty much since it was born and I’m very excited to see it grow. Thomas is such a talented musician, photographer and director and when he teamed up with Nick Sheldon I was expecting nothing less than gold. Looks like I was right.”

Initially, the video illustrates a love story; however, ‘Hurricane’, featuring vocals from both Karin and Thomas and directed by Knights himself, is a mesmerizing depiction of a 21st century life and each individual’s constant desire for more, an underlying sense of longing throughout the hypnotic synths and evocative melody. ‘Hurricane is about never feeling satisfied,’ Knights says. ‘It’s about not getting swept up – you have to keep on going.’   
The meeting of dark decadent subject matter with electronica, hypnotic top lines from both and Knights’ skill with visuals makes for an exhilarating and dangerously alluring combination; listeners are tempted to take a bite out of the apple and enter the ‘fucked up alternative world’ they’ve created.

The release comes complete with remixes from Maya Jane Coles, Booka Shade and newcomer Barber. Maya Jane Coles provides a tantalizing interpretation, adding an extra thread of intrigue that is unmistakably hers to the track’s multi-woven fabric. German producers Booka Shade break the track down only to reconstruct it with an agility that can only be achieved after years of pioneering productions. Newcomer Barber delivers a toughened up re-work worthy of a place in the darkest clubs on the most crowded dance floors.

"London-based musician and producer Russ Davies has been gracing our ears with delicious, lush synthwave for several years now. He’s been busy releasing music under both the monikers Abakus and Cinnamon Chasers, all while touring extensively. The projects do sound similar to where you know it’s the same person, but there’s a sense of emotion that gets captured by Cinnamon Chasers that Abakus doesn’t tap in to. Davies has mentioned childhood fantasy tales like The Neverending Story as inspiration for the project, so maybe it’s that innocence that I’m hearing.

As Cinnamon Chasers, Davies is gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated fourth studio album Great Escape next week. I personally think that this is the most polished and cohesive Cinnamon Chasers album to date. Davies created the album “referencing his past, present, and visions of the future.” Within the music, you can hear all the ups and downs that come when thinking about the timescale of life and it's made for the most pleasant listening experience.

Moments on the album sound assertive and positive, while other points feel uncertain and weary. Some tracks give off a bittersweet air, but the whole album gives off this dreamy, almost nostalgic sensation. It really feels like the listener is being taken on a journey through different points in life. 

The album starts off with a synth heavy opener called “Superwave,” introducing the listener to Cinnamon Chasers’ style of 70s and 80s-influenced electronic pop. It gives off this Giorgio Moroder cinematic vibe, which leads us into the album’s titular track “Great Escape.” This is one of my favorite tracks on the album. The way the synths swirl around with a shoegazing, new wave flair makes for a stunning soundscape complete with lush beats and echoing vocals.

Contrasting the lighter, more upbeat moments in the album are these dark and moody points that give Cinnamon Chasers an end result that sounds somewhat like Norwegian duo Röyksopp or a cinematic Daft Punk. “Screamout” has the best example of that similar brooding, billowing orchestral production style, but I could totally see Röyksopp releasing something on the lighter side like “Together.” It’s a track that's mildly dark, but you can see the light in the soft marching beat and ethereal female vocals.

El reto para Noel fue grabar un material digno de su exitoso pasado con Oasis. Con  Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds (2012), logró sepultar los fantasmas de Liam. AKA... What a Life! es mi track favorito del mencionado disco debut. Alguna vez dijo Noel que esta canción cuando la terminó de escribir, inmediatamente pensó que era una canción para Madonna, por el ritmo medio disco que tiene. Finalmente la incluyó y dicho es tema fundamental para comprender lo el posible futuro de este músico.
