Rivers & Robots

On Friday night 20 of us gathered together in a friend's living room to pray and worship together for a couple of hours. We also stuck a mic in the middle of the room and did a pretty raw recording, here's a few snippets from a very special evening, and hopefully the first of many!

Here is the first track from our new album "All Things New". We've been playing this song for over a year so it's great to finally be able to share it! And we're looking forward to releasing the rest sometime soon!

We Have Overcome

Here's a song we did for The Verses Project (http://theversesproject.com) as part of their "Memorise Psalm 139" series, with some great artwork by Lauren Miller.

The project has different artists writing songs that are word for word Bible verses, along with designs by some great designers which help people memorise scripture.

Rivers & Robots is an indie worship project from Manchester, UK. Originally started as a solo project in 2010, Rivers & Robots has since expanded to a band in 2012. We love Jesus and we love to worship through song, music, creativity and art. We aim to create songs that express and declare who God is, both lyrically and through music and creativity. These usually come in the form of indie, folk and electronic songs.

We’re a small part of a global worship movement being raised up right now, singing a new song (Isaiah 42:10) and preparing the way (Isaiah 40:3-5) for the return of Jesus. Aiming to glorify Him and declare His glory (Psalm 96), and to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength (Luke 10:27). We’re also quite partial to a bit of tea and cake.

Rivers & Robots is Jonathan Ogden (vocals, keyboards, samples/loops), David Hailes (guitar, ukelele, vocals), Nathan Stirling (bass, guitar, percussion, vocals) and Kelani Koyejo (drums, vocals). We currently have two albums out, with a new one coming early 2014. Recorded and mixed by Charles Carr with his mobile recording studio in 2006 called Eulogia Studios.
In 2006 Souled Out began releasing live worship albums recorded at Souled Out events under the label Doxano Music. The first release was entitled “Glorify Your Name”, the second “Take My Life”.

While we're in the middle of working on a studio album, I thought I'd share with you a live, raw, and beautifully messy recording from a time of worship this past Sunday night (5/8/12).
The song "Abba" by Jonathan Helser has always made my heart want to jump out of its chest. My arrangement here is not something really mapped out intentionally as a thought out variation from the original, its just that every time I do this song the cries to Abba take on an unpredictable shape and form.
 If you haven't picked up any of Jonathan's albums, I'd highly recommend it. His music takes me places that few others do.
