Grateful (If I Could Just Be A Pixel) at My Living Room at Midnight

On Friday night 20 of us gathered together in a friend's living room to pray and worship together for a couple of hours. We also stuck a mic in the middle of the room and did a pretty raw recording, here's a few snippets from a very special evening, and hopefully the first of many!

We Have Overcome

Here's a song we did for The Verses Project (http://theversesproject.com) as part of their "Memorise Psalm 139" series, with some great artwork by Lauren Miller.

The project has different artists writing songs that are word for word Bible verses, along with designs by some great designers which help people memorise scripture.

"My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance;in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them."

Rivers & Robots is an indie worship project from Manchester, UK. Originally started as a solo project in 2010, Rivers & Robots has since expanded to a band in 2012. We love Jesus and we love to worship through song, music, creativity and art. We aim to create songs that express and declare who God is, both lyrically and through music and creativity. These usually come in the form of indie, folk and electronic songs.

We’re a small part of a global worship movement being raised up right now, singing a new song (Isaiah 42:10) and preparing the way (Isaiah 40:3-5) for the return of Jesus. Aiming to glorify Him and declare His glory (Psalm 96), and to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength (Luke 10:27). We’re also quite partial to a bit of tea and cake.

Rivers & Robots is Jonathan Ogden (vocals, keyboards, samples/loops), David Hailes (guitar, ukelele, vocals), Nathan Stirling (bass, guitar, percussion, vocals) and Kelani Koyejo (drums, vocals). We currently have two albums out, with a new one coming early 2014. When I was a child,
I used to trace beautiful pictures
Of flowers and animals and maybe
a car here and there ...
i used to trace things
Because i didnt know how to draw;
my hand usually made a mess of lead and paper.

But as time passed i grew out
Of tracing and drawing and
i focused my mind on things like:
Music, and how it made me feel;
On things like:
I want to go to the beach to have some fun
But usually just to feed my eyes with all the girls;
(Hey can i get your number?)
on things like:
This life is too hard, too boring
Lets consume something.

You see
I used to live inside a box.
A restriction box.
My feet were chained my hands cuffed,
I was a slave to a rotten flesh know as “self”
To a body that obeyed wealth.
Wealth in what?

Wealth in a pair of lying lips and selfishness.
What a wretched human being I was.

And then one day someone said,
“look yonder at that cross”
And I turned and looked and what I saw
Was not a cross but a giant heart.
