An excerpt from my newest ambient undertaking!

Drift (excerpt)

On February 24, 2022, at 5 am, Russian bombs began to fall on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. The perfidious invasion of Russian troops forever changed the history and face of this country. Every day, civilians and soldiers who defend their homeland are getting killed. This war is senseless and merciless. No decent person can remain indifferent. The Chitra Records label also took on a small mission of helping to rebuild Ukraine. We teamed up with ambient and neoclassical musicians from all over the world and released a two-hour compilation of calming, peaceful, and experimental ambient music. Our goal is to raise funds for the civilians of Ukraine. All proceeds from the digital sales of the compilation on Bandcamp for the first two weeks from the release date (until March 21, 2022) will be sent to the Red Cross Society of Ukraine.

This EP is a collection of improvised pieces recorded between 2021 and 2022 by Daniele Bogon in his studio using analog modular synthesizers, an old Korg MS 20 and effects without further modifications, in order to preserve the core of the initial feeling. Each piece represents the photograph of the moment in which it was performed and recorded, a direct connection between feeling and making it flow through the machines, without overthinking. It was a new way of working for me but it was liberating and helped me a lot.
The result is like the memory of a dream, the outlines are blurred but the essence is present and still clear in the mind.

“Boke” is the Japanese word for saying blur and mental confusion.
In 2013 a person very close to me was diagnosed with what I call the memory disease.
Unfortunately in these long and struggling years I could see every step of this disorder.
So, I decided to record this album to find a sort of relief in my soul and to make people aware about this painful disease.
Each track is a degenerative phase of this malady that in 2020 has no cure and is becoming every day more widespread. 
Our mind is a recorder that makes us react to the impulses of life. We are the sum of our days spent and without memories we go back to being a blank page.
Interruption of memory is a collision between our dreams and what we are….
