Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint has remained on the cutting edge  since its inception in 2011. The Belgian imprint has not only featured some of electronic music's most tried and tested names but it's also been instrumental in showcasing undiscovered talent.  The label prides itself on nurturing up and coming producers and has already launched the careers of Antti Rasi, Daraspa and Matias Chilano. Sound Avenue's 48th offering is not only presenting a new artist to the label but also the world with the debut release for an exciting new producer from France by the name of DENT. 
DENT's love for the contemporary deep house sound currently championed by labels like Innervisions certainly shines through in his productions. The rugged grooves and organic textures of 'Tanzanite' are fresh and inspiring. The records looming atmosphere coupled with vivacious rhythms and a unique sonic scope make it immediately captivating. It's post modern psychedelic design is particularly evident during the main break, where a collage of trippy electronics and imperceptible vocal elements build intrigue for the records second and third acts. DENT's distinctive motif then evolves in an eerie and utterly compelling manner until a glassy harmonic overlay brings the piece to an exhilarating peak. 
The companion piece 'Lapis Lazuli' finds DENT reaching even further into his studio repertoire. Backed by a sequence of billowing bass swells and a band of rolling rhythms the dance floor sensibility is sky high from the outset. The subterranean groove lays down waves of powerful momentum while a series of lead hooks just adds to the infectious swing. Long haunting sweeps along with fluid hypnotics complement the thunderous groove and push the proceedings forward to the main break. The nearly one minute interlude showcases a gritty electronic wail which furthers the emotional content and sets up a smooth and soulful finale. 
An outstanding debut EP from DENT who you'll most certainly be hearing a lot more from in the future.

Bones has been a fixture at Night Bass since the beginning. The Gotta Dance Dirty co-founder is a ubiquitous presence in the Los Angeles underground and a resident at Exchange downtown. His debut mix for THUMP is an hour-long treatise on moody house tunes, the likes of which he'll be dropping when the Night Bass crew takes over Sound nightclub in Hollywood once again this Thursday. This week, Bones will be joined by Petey Clicks, Jubilee, Hotel Garuda, and AC Slater himself. 

The mix boasts a knowledge of house music history along with a deep-set collection of tunes from rising artists. The likes of S-Man and Sonny Fodera sit alongside the likes of Hotel Garuda and Bot with an effortless air. Elsewhere, Cassian, Breach, Jack Beats and Gorgon City make appearances.
