"Once Upon A Time" is a fusion of elements from my two favorite genres, Chillout and Cinematic music. Despite being the first track on the EP, it was the second one I wrote. Because of the way the structure slowly builds up, I figured that it would be a good introduction into the concept of the EP. I chose to name the track "Once Upon A Time" because it's starts off with a mystical-sounding pluck that slowly turns into a warm soundscape, which reminded me of the fairy tales my parents used to read out to my sister and me when I was younger.

For the 'Nerds':

The pluck in the intro was made by routing a Doepfer A-110-2 VCO into my Microbrute's pitch CV in, essentially resulting in analog FM. I then sampled a note that was somewhat tonal, using Ableton's "Sampler'. 

You might notice that all the tracks on "Sketches" are fairly short, compared to songs like "Virtual Paradise", "Sublime Weakness" and "Icicle". I did this on purpose, because I wanted the listener to perceive the EP as one big story. 

Although I'm not going to giveaway the details of the story, the conceptional idea behind "Sketches" is that many smaller things add up to complete the puzzle that is life.

dieser typ hier ist seit´95 total techno süchtig, er liebt ebenfalls jungle und tech house und um ruhe zu finden, drum n bass und electronica. in den letzten 6 jahren bis heute, wenn es ihm die zeit erlaubt^^, versucht er techno oder tech house zu mixen aber der weg zur perfektion ist unendlich lang ;)
