Giana Brotherz are undoubtedly one of the most incomparable artists within the German Drum&Bass scene. It all started back in 2000 when the producer duo SSB (aka Chicken & Sola) formed the Drum & Bass live project Giana Brotherz, that created a stir within the scene from the word go. Their first releases on Basswerk & Pathfinder attained international recognition and was played by almost every well-known DJ across the board at the time. Their follow up single ‘Crossed Roots’ (Basswerk 015) was one of the most significant releases of 2002.  It was only a matter of time before the duo started getting recognized for their talents and the motherland of Drum & Bass ‘the UK’ would come calling and start paying attention. 2003 saw the inauguration of their own label ‘Giana Brotherz Recordings’; which quickly established itself and became home to many renowned artists and their high-quality productions. The guys touring schedule intensified due to their immense popularity. Chicken, one half of the duo, who is known for his capacity to transport the energy of a live concert into his DJ sets, with amazing performances and stage presence. Anyone who has experienced one of his DJ performances comprehends his outstanding talent in blending Drum & Bass, Dubstep and Breaks like no other. Fresh dubplates meet timeless classics, that guarantee rewinds, are the name of the game. Welcome to the world of Giana Brotherz.

Dan FreeMan (CØm1x) is a producer/bassist and music technologist based in Brooklyn, New York.   Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Freeman comes from a bi-cultural background: his mother is Nicaraguan and his father American, so he grew up exposed to a rich variety of music.  He started training as a classical pianist at the age of four and switched to jazz bass at thirteen. 
 
After graduating from Harvard University, he came to New York to be a session bassist.  As a bass player he has performed with such artists as Angelique Kidjo, and the B-52’s and throughout North America, South America, and Europe in venues ranging from underground Brooklyn loft parties to Carnegie Hall.  He also played keyboards for the RCA Records’ rock group Stellastarr*.

In 2008, he formed the electro-funk digital music and art collective Comandante Zero (CØ). CØ developed techniques for fusing live acoustic instruments with laptops running Ableton Live and created their own unique hybrid set as well as serving as a backing band for various artists including Polina Goudieva and Virgin Records’ artist Xavier.  They performed in the US, Europe and South America including at such clubs as NYC's Webster Hall, Berlin's Berghain, and London's Rhythm Factory.  

Currently, Dan has a production studio in Gowanus, Brooklyn where he mixes, remixes and writes for film.  He also performs a unique 'live production'  solo set where he creates heavy electro funk grooves in real time using the  Ableton PUSH instrument.  His own music is heavily influenced by classic New York City Disco, especially Larry Levan's Paradise Garage between 1979 - 1983, Acid House and French house.  

Dan is an Ableton Live 8 and 9 Certified Trainer and senior instructor at New York City's Dubspot where he teaches electronic music production and heads Dubspot International.  He is also on the faculty of NYU's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.  He has given Ableton Live and production workshops at events, festivals and universities worldwide including SXSW, Sonar (Barcelona), Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Copenhagen, Harvard University, The University of Santiago (Chile) and the University of Caldas (Colombia).  He also runs the NYC Ableton Live User Group.

Max Mischief is a DJ and producer with a focus on the deep and dark, originally from NYC and now living full time in Denver.  

In December 2012 he and I.N.I founded a night called Subverse-NYC to help facilitate bass music in the 5 boroughs. He later moved on to found the Noctem series of sessions, which has since evolved into a record label co-run by @wastemandubs.

Max Mischief has brought DJ sets to prominent bass music festivals and events such as Camp Bisco, Sub.Mission, Grease, Konkrete Jungle, Bang On! NYC, DEEPER, Dubday Mondays, Girls & Boys, and BASSment Saturdays @ Webster Hall.
