In March 2007, Inigo Kennedy put Token on the map with our first release ‘Identify Yourself’.
7 years & 10 releases later, he now releases his first full length on Token: ‘Vaudeville’, a project that feels like the culmination of all those years and all those records.
In true, theatrical manner, Vaudeville is a collection of differing themes - from the abstract and freakishly odd to the direct and resonant. And just as the Vaudevillian shares a common purpose with his co-stars as the 'voice of the city'('voix de ville'), there runs through the centre of this record a clear narrative for urban experience.

On 14 April we are releasing a single to portend the full show: 'Lullaby'/'Petrichor'. These two tracks will stand alone on a 12'' vinyl, with the rest of Vaudeville released as a 2xLP & CD on the 2nd June.

This was worth the wait, we promise.

Field Records is to release a two-CD compilation and three vinyl samplers of music from the label's artists old and new entitled simply, Collection.

This second sampler pulls together three tracks of deep, dubby and ambient music from French producer duo Polar Inertia, Remote_ and Sweden's Varg. His track 'Ohns Odegard' is a serene and autumnal bit of ambient with swollen pads and incidental synths making for a soothing atmosphere. Remote_'s 'Echo Of You' is just as wide open and serene but has a warm, rubbery pulse driving it along and finally Polar Inertia gets a little frazzled and intense with their loopy slow techno roller 'Sonic Outlaws'.

Orioni Records is an independent label based on Buenos Aires (Argentina) founded by Luis Ruiz.

Orioni 02 – Second Sight EP (Espen Lauritzen / Farceb / Pulse One / Zedje)

Here comes the second release of Orioni Records, another compilation of argentinian artists.
Espen Lauritzen makes his way on with “1724”, hardened 909 rhythms together a filtered 303 bassline in his own abstract way results in a banging and effective weapon, creating an hypnotic feeling into the dance-floor. B2 is for Farceb with “Enki”, smashing broken beats, FM synthesis and sharp
909 hi-hats and beats, using a stronger drum workout within. An impressive masterpiece digging deep into the groove. In the other side, “Everything Transforms” by Pulse one, who presents an aggressive killer track with repetitive hard synth sequences, but it also comes with lot of tweaks on the analog synthesis and different types of pitches, modulations and filters for a mental feeling.
Closing the album, Zedje delivers “Restore”, full of obscure rhythm treatments, massive kick drums and shuffled 909 hi-hats and rides, different types of drones and complex analog synthesizers around the modular step sequences get together to bring you this massive peace of a track. Classy.
Keep an eye on this new project, Orioni, is here to stay …

Oscar Mulero is a one-man techno institution. Operating out of Madrid since the late 1980s, his productions reflect his deep understanding of techno through his tireless and disciplined work behind the decks. After his first release on Token in 2008, the ferocious Take Seven EP, Mulero teamed up with the comparably-accomplished Christian Wünsch for two more Token releases as Spherical Coordinates, sophisticated offerings of refined big room and bleep tracks.
 
Now he’s back with another solo 4-track contribution that feels like classic Mulero. Hyperbolic Paths is simultaneously deep and bleepy, accented by hi-hats in syncopation. The tom-heavy Suborbital Trajectories carries a serious groove, layered with lively melodic elements and an occasional unexpected statement cymbal crash. A haunting and hypnotic number, Inclination swells and increases in intensity, rolling on after its breakdown with a playful kick-clap interaction. Eccentricity is a spacious, dubby closing track with reverb-soaked ornamental splashes.

Tadeo first released on Token in 2015 with the instant classic Terra Incognita, reminiscent of the kind of techno-futurism usually employed by some of the Detroit greats.

If Terra Incognita was an interpretation of outer space, The Pit comes from deep in the ground. This is electronic programme music; bookended in distinctive Tadeo style with a modal string section that places the record firmly in the avant-garde, The Pit guides us through the moods and associations of a classic science fiction narrative.

The record is consistent in its instrumental palette, with a subdued but powerful low-end to set the pace, disorienting semitone meanderings and organic percussion in the mid, and massive, crashing hats that lift statement sections beyond comprehension.
