this is the mix, consisting of Moving Shadow releases only, clocking in at 4 (four) hours and is the first mix of three. all tracks featured (except one) are from releases with catalogue numbers before 100 - roughly at that time there was a major change in drum&bass as a whole - it became more cold, nervous, machine-like and I felt emotionally more connected to the more soulful, atmospheric and jazzy stuff being released earlier than that.

as you might have figured out by now, I was - and still am, in a way - an addict of this fine label which managed to release a hell of an amount of most forefront quality drum&bass and jungle of it's time. I was so obsessed I had to get every single vinyl Moving Shadow release. after 250 or so releases, I still am halfway. for me, it was a label with unsurpassed quality/quantity ratio, with an unique sound, the cream of the crops, the icing on a chocolate cake. few other drum&bass labels have ever gotten close to this, most notably the Good Looking empire, Metalheadz.

if anyone should care, it was recorded using two stanton st-90 turntables, a numark dm3001x mixer and two stanton sk520 cartridges, meaning it's an all vinyl mix and recorded in one go.

as I said before, there are two more 4-hour moving shadow only sessions. my ultimate dream would be to re-record and re-master these mixes using digital copies, to ensure the best sound quality which the pieces of music contained definitely deserve. these mixes were intended to be a journey through the soundscape, the snapshot of mid-90s moving shadow world, therefore, my input is merely a vessel for the music.
