There's no mystery behind the title - I recorded the various guitar parts over a 'backing' track that happened to have an effect on it. This is perhaps the most direct I've ever been lyrically and so whatever title I came up with seemed to cheapen it - and so 'backing w/effect' remained. Recorded in early 2003.

Daniel Clark | A multi-instrumentalist songwriter hailing from the northwest of England. Daniel has been musically active for almost twenty years; playing in a variety of bands and releasing numerous solo albums under various guises. 

In 2015, Daniel released Place and Time - his first solo album under his own name. This was followed in 2016 with Glass House. Daniel's third and most recent solo release, Corridors, was released in November 2017. 

Daniel’s music is eclectic; from chiming arpeggios to dark and brooding soundscapes, his music and lyrics are often inspired by the desolate beauty of the northern landscape and the people within it.
