Some things in life cannot be measured by numbers or translated into words. Having the privilege to officially remix a track by Hernan Cattaneo is one of them. Among this select group is the Brazilian producer and multi-instrumentalist BRVNOV, who has just delivered his own interpretation of Love Is Coming Back. The original track, released in February 2023 featuring the Egyptian-Canadian duo Husa & Zeyada, presented Zeyada’s hypnotic vocals — which were preserved and carefully repositioned in this new remix. The remix sets an intrinsically hypnotic mood from the start, guiding the listener through a sensitive and immersive journey. The break, wrapped in melodic pads, creates a moment of absolute trance and seems to suspend time before the drop, which is luminary and expansive. This is BRVNOV’s third release on DOC Records, consolidating not only his place in the label’s catalog but also the trust and respect of Gui Boratto. D-Nox and André team up once more for ‘Sessions Part 1’

Clearly, a collaboration that works for both artists, ‘Sessions’ represents the next phase for the multinational pairing. Whether remixing each other or appearing on the same labels, D-Nox and André’s musical blueprint is finely tuned, as they continue to grow together artistically.

Opening with ‘Discovery’, we immediately deep dive into a world of liquid cool beats, icy pads, and gated vocals. Smooth and chuggy, the track develops a wickedly warm vibe among the deep keys and cinematic sweeps. Uniquely familiar and something you’ll likely hear for a long time to come.

Next up, ‘Cosmic’ follows suit. Rubbery bass and sparse percussion make way for keyed melodics and ethereal vocals. Creating a deeply spiritual sound that transcends current trends, it harks back to the essence of the original prog sound - hard but groovy, fast but trancey. Truly a work of genius.

Rounding out the trio, ‘Brisa’ has housier feels. More robust and upfront than its brothers, it’s a spiky assault of the senses that bristles with peak time energy. The breaks are all about hands in the air and knowing smiles of appreciation; the melodies about the swaying enjoyment of finally reaching that blissful disconnect from your problems.

You owe it to yourselves to own this EP. It’s phenomenal.

Amsterdam based Daniel Testas has been working as a composer, producer  and DJ for quite some time. 

His first little steps into the world of music creation were made at the beginning of the nineties. Inspired by progressive, pioneering people like Brian Eno, Juan Atkins, Pump Panel, Afrika Bombaataa and Kraftwerk, he felt the urge to take the path of music himself. 

After lots of experimentation in home studio’s, Daniel teamed up with his brother to form the Brothers Testas, creating and releasing house music on illustrious UK labels like Sperm Records and Jam Records, and playing big clubs and raves in Amsterdam.

Next up was Project2000 this exotic (live) drum&bass band had huge success at the beginning of the new millennium (releases on Universal Records). 

After that came many lounge and chill albums with Praful and Adani&Wolf (Therapy Records) andmore recently the Balearic house scene was entered with the group Bo Geste (releases on Prison entertainment and Jalapeno Records). 

But... blood runs thicker than water, so in 2015 Daniel went back to his production roots and his old, but first love: house music. That resulted in a big stream of releases on various good quality labels.

Besides these activities Daniel has always also composed a lot of electro-acoustic music. That could be either autonomous or for film, dance and video projects. In these projects almost everything that inspires Daniel in composition and production come together in an imaginative symbiosis: sampling and synthesis, abstraction, accessibility, musique concrete, soundscape-design, sound and melody counterpoint, spectral and spatial processing, beat-creation, etc
