My idea for this was to take a piece of generative music, and regenerate it...

I politely asked and was granted permission to use a track called Wrinkles (https://soundcloud.com/sundog70/wrinkles), which he had composed inspired by Todd Barton's work to replicate the Krell noises from Forbidden Planet (the original 'lesson' here https://vimeo.com/48466272). This kind of approach to modular synthesis throws up a lot of interesting timbres and noises. I picked two rhythmic elements, and two melodic ones. I EQ'd slightly, and added a dash of reverb.

Museum Street

Each Sunday morning while my family are at church, I am exploring drones on a modular synthesizer. Eventually, I will select a dozen to represent "The Sunday Service". Recording drones at the start of the day is a peculiar experience, as they always make me think of night...

This is the seventh recording I've made for this project.

The sounds use mainly two ring-modulated sources, one sine based, the other triangle based, controlled by two looping envelopes and a chaos machine called a Woggglebug. The sounds are generative, in that once the patch was assembled, the only intervention was to fade in and out each sound. This was recorded in one take, through an El Capistan tape echo, with some panning afterwards.

Using two Loudest Warning (http://www.loudestwarning.co.uk/) panels, one tweaking an Animal template with 258s and lots of mods, the other a VV3+ (includes quantisers). Strymon El Capistan in the auxialliary channel, level adjustments and panning afterwards and a dash of Soundtoys amazing Little Plate Reverb.
