Ethnic Parallel, out April 8th on Gravitas Recordings, is a new beginning for Mr. Ours as he pushes his sound and capabilities to further grow. When the world was initially put on lockdown and the future felt uncertain, Mr. Ours decided to take that time to reflect on what his typical working methods were, and focus back on his musical roots. He
believed this was the perfect time to evolve his sound while producing what feels most true to himself. Ethnic Parallel is an inspiring journey to the heart of music and its diversity. Mr. Ours invites us, through his colorful and exotic tracks, to leave what we know, to discover new sound and musical horizons. Between bass music, trap and world music, "Ethnic Parallel" is an inspiring and powerful EP at the same time.

“Good Music” introduces the EP with gritty guitar strokes, and striking bass punches quickly approach as the initial drop, setting the tone for what’s to come. The organic dynamic of the track makes it easy to get lost in rhythm of what the song has to offer. “This Is a Sample” opens up with lively synths, encompassing a worldy atmosphere. Inspiring sounds that seamlessly weave together, showing off Mr. Ours musical capabilities of utilizing various samples to create a unique track. “Gamelan Trip” sprinkles in a blend of trap and bass elements making the listener curious. Hard hitting drums paired with colorful bass create a lively energy that you won’t want to end. “Monk Keyz” comes in with gritty keyboard notes and punches in with bass that will have the floor shaking. When the first drop hits, you can feel the sense of maturity within the sound, already making it stand out in a new and refreshing way. A deep humming that accompanies the song throughout the track showcases the ethnic twist Mr. Ours incorporated, standing true to what Ethnic Parallel is about.

Temple, out September 16th on Gravitas Recordings, is a perfect blend of west coast bass and ethereal melodies truly capturing the full @Orenda style.  He has released amazing music for years now on Gravitas and other labels, and this recent work is his highest quality with extreme attention to detail and sound design.  It still has the Orenda world-music, ethereal vibe, but with more festival and club-ready tracks. Orenda describes it as “A journey style EP arranged from highest to lowest energy. Focusing on a fusion of ethnic, world music rhythms and instruments, blended with dark West-Coast bass music.”

The opening track “Temple” brings this high energy to the forefront with tribal bass and captivating percussion building into a heavy drop of clean wubs and growls that pull the listener into a trance.  “Unbound” dives into beautiful background vocal chops and string plucks, again building into heavier bass and growls but not losing the original ethnic soundscape created.  “Eclipse” brings down the energy in a journey through world vocals and organic textures, dropping with deep bass and enchanting synth stabs that brings a nostalgic feel and perfect blend of his two energetic sides.  “Sanctum” builds further into this lower energy ethereal vibe while still incorporating smaller growls and unreal sound design from the previous tracks, another one that throws the listener into another world.  “Nightfall” closes the EP with perfect natural soundscapes and organic textures and foley to transport the listener into a jungle of sound, the whole track teases the heavier aspects and builds into one final drop that leaves us wanting more in a perfect way.

France-native Lil Fish unveils his newest musical masterpiece and first project with Gravitas Recordings, Organic. Alongside the title, the term “organic” is manifested in two unique ways within this personal and introspective project. First, it depicts the organic side of acoustic instruments. It illustrates the warmth and richness of ethnic instruments and the emotions that visual images may elicit. The tracks featured are mixed with deep, energetic electronic rhythm and atmosphere to travel along a musical journey. Second, it is organic by being rooted to nature, in connection with the essence of life. Organic contrasts with the technological world, which tends to distance people from the essence of life over time. This EP evokes the desire to become aware and to stay grounded through mind traveling music. Fabien presents these ideas in a dynamic of hope through six colorful pieces inside a musical melting pot.

“Apologize” draws listeners into a mind traveling escapade within euphoric worldly bass comprised of ethereal soundscapes. “Theory” blends hard hitting bass with melodic, ethnic music that induces inner reflection. Featuring CloZee, “The Lost Voices” presents fluid synthesis before the cries of the lost voices are entwined with spiraling ethnic instrumentation. Suddenly, listeners must run through and escape the “Burning Forest” that trails behind, later finding salvation within peaceful atmospheres. Title track “Organic” instigates a grounding back to nature through tranquil beats that inspire awareness and a sense of wonder. “Origines” concludes the EP with dynamic acoustic environments, which mind travel listeners back as they finish grounding themselves back to nature.
