Kutin/Kindlinger realised complex multichannel-recordings of several variations on feedback-room-resonations (based on Alvin Luciers concept of his masterpiece 'i am sitting in room') .
They did this deep inside a glacier gap up 3200 meters in the austrian alps.

The dramaturgy of the composition is based on the true story of a man who fell into a glacier gap and survived there for six days and nights. he was kept alive by collecting water-drops in his aluminum-bottle.
during this time in complete isolation and darkness , his subconsciousness started to take control of almost all his brainactivity; when he was conscious was saying prayers for most of the time .
The slow transformation of the pure field-recording of the glacier into the drone-sound of it's unqiue resonance-frequencies is a sonic-gesture that reassembles the subconscious or let's say the hidden information of any room .
It takes certain situations to get in touch with, or experience this layer of a hidden but constantly present reality . in this case isolation was the key.

Peter Kutin / Florian Kindlinger - E# from a glacial tune

The ticking of the clock resounded around the room, its monotonous sound made it difficult for him to concentrate on his own thoughts. He shifted his attention to the other people in the room, and tried to scan their faces for feelings, thoughts and emotions. Nobody gave anything away; their expressions were unreadable and unaffected, as though they were all hiding something from the world. He wondered what their stories were, where they'd come from and where they were going, but he'd never find out the answers, speculation would have to serve his curiosity. 

A lover of hip hop, Lily Haz's releases are characterised by samples and off-kilter beats but with her own unique, personal touch. On singles and EPs for the likes of Night Noise, Stamp The Wax and her regular home Tofistock, she's demonstrated her knack for blurring the boundaries between genres, fusing elements of electro, dub, experimental, trip hop and ambient. For her long-awaited debut album she takes cues from nineties songs and films, playing with the art of sampling to fashion a collection of nine tracks that take us on a trip through hypnotic atmospheres, lo-fi beats and weirdo rap verses.

Tintin Patrone is a German-Filipino composer and sound artist currently based in Hamburg. With a focus on minimal sound work and long-duration performances, Tintin’s artistic endeavours are deeply influenced by her studies in microtonality. Using a trombone and a range of modulation devices, she crafts compositions that gradually unfold, featuring sustained tones that create a contemplative atmosphere.

🌿 ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ꜱᴏɴɪᴄ ᴀɢᴇɴᴄʏ

As we have always dealt with sound as a political category, our activism is based on listening and focuses on the revolutionary potential that is inherent in the sonic. Under the banner of Sonic Agency we want to enforce a sonic activism of opposition and resistance. The artists involved are advocating for social and political transformation. Their sounds lend themselves to global emancipatory struggles, and fights for freedom and equality. The featured sounds aren’t complicit in the silence that surrounds us. They are furious, desperate, crying, paralysed, compassionate and rebellious like us. There is a message in sound that cannot be negated.

Listening is not neutral.
Listening shapes the reality we live in.
Listening is shaped by ethics and politics and leads back to it.
Listening is directly linked to memory and identity.
Listening is as important as speaking.
Listening is an active act.

one of the oldest coolhaven songs around. it is from 2002-ish. and how strange that it is still a topical subject... Long Live Obama!  We never got to record it properly (or mix it for that matter)... so what you find here is not the real thing, but some logic files and some overdubs- all done with great energy and mood... But the real version of this song (including labtop solo -but this labtop has died now) happened at the SKIF festival in Piter (2005 i think) and was not recorded... still, hope you can enjoy this...
