This is the sound design of the promo video made for D&D Creations, a 3D content development studio. 

Made by George Krallis (CG), Ioannis Varelidis (Music Score) and Kostas Loukovikas (Sound Design), in order to light D&D's start up webninar sessions of Vue masterclasses.

For the sound design a coffee mixer turned into a spooky alarm siren, a microwave in operation into the sub moody industrial ambience, several recordings of a bicycle ball bearing used for mapping the turning drills & a ping pong ball, rubbed in a pan, became the sound of the turning gears.

The piece was used for a radioproduction of Dario SanFilipo and myself in 2015 - Feedback Fire Freezes (for Ö1 Art's radio).
For this work, Florian Kindlinger and me did some variations of Alvin Lucier's composition 'i am sitting in a room' inside a glacier gap up 3200 meters in the alps of Ötztal . source material are some waterdrops that could be heard inside the cave (no speech was used) ; recorded with four microphones spread through the crevasse on a distance of about hundred meters ... these recordings play a major part in the compositional sequel of DECOMPOSITION . After 'desert sound' (2013) followed 'E#' (2014) and Illusion / Desert Bloom (2016)

Why an orchestral composition? 
Because bowed instruments are the only acoustic instruments which can properly "fade".

The piece you can listen to here is an excerpt of the actual work from Peter Kutin / Florian Kindlinger that deals with sounds and acoustic-characteristics of glaciers .
Kutin/Kindlinger realised complex multichannel-recordings of several variations on feedback-room-resonations (based on Alvin Luciers concept of his masterpiece 'i am sitting in room') .
They did this deep inside a glacier gap up 3200 meters in the austrian alps.

The dramaturgy of the composition is based on the true story of a man who fell into a glacier gap and survived there for six days and nights. he was kept alive by collecting water-drops in his aluminum-bottle.
during this time in complete isolation and darkness , his subconsciousness started to take control of almost all his brainactivity; when he was conscious was saying prayers for most of the time .
The slow transformation of the pure field-recording of the glacier into the drone-sound of it's unqiue resonance-frequencies is a sonic-gesture that reassembles the subconscious or let's say the hidden information of any room .
It takes certain situations to get in touch with, or experience this layer of a hidden but constantly present reality . in this case isolation was the key.
