A song of gratitude for the life of my dear friend Martin, who died two years ago.  I wrote most of it the week after his death, intending to play it at his funeral, but it was too raw and i couldn't finish it back then.  This weekend, taking part in a ceremony of remembrance for him, I caught and reeled-in the bridge which completes my feelings.  It's a very simple song.

And you were a brave one, crossing those lines in the sand

Holding hands tight, it’s ok to be sad, you were the best friend that I ever had
I’m going to say it once more - thank you for that.

Together with award winning Producer and composer Bill Lovelady, her band, and backed by her fan base who pre-bought the album half a year in advance, she created her first album ‘Montpelier’. Made on a complete shoe- string, it was recorded in a barn in Oxford in freezing cold October. Wearing hats, gloves, coats and drinking endless cups of hot tea and trying to record around crowing cockerels, squeaky wheelbarrows and one local celebrity who liked to take his plane out most days, ‘Montpelier’ was born. The barn was chosen for it’s unique acoustics and it’s what eventually gave the album such an individual sound.

Chris Whitty probably needs no introduction to our UK audience - he's the chief medical advisor to the UK government, has played a pivotal role in shaping the country's response to Covid-19.

He rarely does interviews - so in this conversation we wanted to ask him the questions that matter to clinicians, about how the pandemic will impact them over the winter.
