Australian-born Opera Singer, Allegra Giagu, gave her Sydney Opera House debut at the age of eleven, and has since performed as a young artist with respected conductors, directors and ensembles throughout the UK, continental Europe and Australasia.

In 2013, Allegra was a featured artist on the Oscar Nominated and Ivor Award winning Anna Karenina film soundtrack, written by Dario Marianelli, and in July 2014 will make her role debut as Donna Elvira in Black Cat Opera's production of Mozart's Don Giovanni.

Other recent debuts include performances on London’s West End as Principal Soprano alongside Violinist, Sonja Schebeck, in Chloe Charody's Circus Opera, The Carnival; a role she revisited in 2013 with a premiere season at the Fliegende Bauten in Hamburg.  Allegra also created and premiered the title role of a new opera in Vienna, Photo Socrates: written by Canadian composer, Clio Montrey.

Awards have included The Helen Myers Vocal Scholarship from the Sydney Conservatorium and full-scholarships for studies abroad, completed at the Royal College of Music and at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Allegra also received a scholarship to attend the Wiener Meisterkurse in Austria.

Other engagements have included performing for the Dalai Lama at Sydney Opera House; as soloist for The Edinburgh Military Tattoo; at St Peters in the Vatican City; and performing with Dame Judi Dench for ClassicFM at the Story of Christmas, at St. George’s Hanover Square. Further projects have included award-winning pianist and friend, Sally Whitwell, and soundtracks for an exhibition of Medieval Choirbook Leaves at London's V&A Museum. Allegra may also be heard singing backing vocals for the late Donna Summer in a recent campaign for Gucci ‘Flora’.
