Tears of the Dragon


This original classical music was composed and produced by Danny Al Qassar for the stage production of The Maids by Jean Genet, directed by Ali Al Maghout. The play, one of the masterpieces of modern French theatre, explores themes of power, identity, and illusion through the dark and surreal relationship between two maids and their mistress.

The score was written for a small orchestra consisting of strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion, creating a cinematic and dramatic soundscape that reflects the psychological intensity of the play. The music takes on the role of a narrative voice, guiding the emotions and atmosphere of the performance.

This production was presented in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, and the music was fully composed, arranged, and recorded by Danny Al Qassar in his studio in Germany.



هذه الموسيقى الكلاسيكية الأصلية من تأليف وإنتاج داني القصار لعروض مسرحية الخادمات للكاتب الفرنسي جان جينيه، من إخراج علي الماغوط. تُعد المسرحية واحدة من أبرز روائع المسرح الفرنسي الحديث، وتتناول قضايا السلطة والهوية والوهم من خلال العلاقة المظلمة والسريالية بين خادمتين وسيدتهما.

تم تأليف الموسيقى لأوركسترا صغيرة تضم وتريات، نحاسيات، خشبيات، وآلات إيقاع، لتشكّل فضاءً درامياً وتصويرياً يواكب التوتر النفسي وأحداث المسرحية، حيث تلعب الموسيقى دور الراوي الذي يقود المشاعر والأجواء على الخشبة.

قُدّم هذا العرض في الشارقة – الإمارات العربية المتحدة، بينما قام داني القصار بتأليف وتنفيذ وتسجيل الموسيقى كاملةً في الاستوديو الخاص به في ألمانيا.

Danny Al Qassar is a distinguished classical pianist and award-winning film composer with a career spanning over 30 years. Known for his emotionally powerful and atmospheric compositions, he has created original scores for films and television series showcased at international festivals.

Educated at the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus with a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance, Danny combines technical mastery with deep emotional expression. His work draws influence from classical traditions, modern cinematic scoring, and diverse cultural elements. He has performed as a soloist across the Middle East and Europe, including with the Damascus Symphony Orchestra and at international music festivals in Germany and the UAE.

In addition to his creative achievements, Danny is a dedicated music educator with over 18 years of teaching experience in Syria and Germany. He currently shares his expertise at leading music institutions and universities, inspiring the next generation of musicians.

Danny’s music is a reflection of his journey, merging artistry with storytelling — a voice that echoes both heritage and innovation.
