We come together once again to showcase Aterral's growth over the last year with an undeniably hard-hitting compilation. Our fourth anniversary VA is special, as it brings forth some of our most recent family members and puts them aside older ones.

As part of CUATRO we bring you Black Loops with 'Balance & Harmony', an elegant blend of eclectic sounds and a jerky guitar wah. Carlo & Baloo follow with 'Best Maldito', a track bursting with an infectious rhythm. Intr0beatz’s 'Where The Party At' delves into ambient depth with rippling synths. Marina Trench delivers 'Because We', featuring a playful piano melody and upbeat energy that pushes boundaries with its lively touch.

Caleb Jackson’s 'The Partylife' fuses high energy, gospel influences, and an acidic bassline. Tatie Dee & Ams contribute 'Underwater', a futuristic, bubbly piece with progressive elements. Emanuele Barilli’s 'Midnight Forty' takes us back to the 90s with a trance-infused, breakbeat house sound that resonates with nostalgia. 'Summer Ending' by Horsemen brings a jazz-swing groove paired with a deep, thumping bassline, perfectly capturing the wistful end-of-summer mood. Airplane Mood & Tali Freeman’s 'Trust' offers a soulful, mystical finale with Khadija as a vocalist, to close off our compilation. 

Intr0beatz - Where The Party At

Middle James, the dynamic production duo comprising Sam Weeks and Connor Mackenzie, are set to release their debut EP, “Dubs & Delights”, on the mighty Miura Records. Known for their unique blend of dance music, jazz, and music culture, Middle James has swiftly made a name for themselves since forming in 2022. Their latest offering, featuring three original tracks, delves deep into the realm of house music, promising to be a dubbie delight (pun intended) for dance music aficionados. 

The opening track, "Gary's Dub," premiered here, sets the tone for the EP with its classy, groovy, and upbeat tempo. Clocking in at 125 BPM, this hip-shaker encapsulates the essence of Middle James' sound. Funkyjaws is the Belarusian DJ and producer Sergey Abramov, who has been dropping his funky disco heat on the likes of Kolour LTD and Shadeleaf Music before now, as well as his own fledgling self-titled imprint. This one kicks off with 'WME' which has some big horn action and stomping disco drums to liven up any party. 'Snapshot' has a raw vocal and atmospheric energy that is sure to uplift and 'Dancin' then brings some sweet hip-swinging claps. It's a string-laced disco affair to close with the majestic 'You'.

Toy Tonics presents the second EP of London talent GUINNY. Singer, DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. On her new EP, GUINNY has put the dance floor at the center of the music. ‘Money Don’t Love Ya’ combines deeper club rhythms with raw, edgy soulful jazz harmonies, vocal licks and proto rap. Rhythmically, this EP leans more towards Deep House; however, you also have flavors from the 80ies with arpeggiator synths, as well as organic textures using layers and layers of violins and vocals, creating a real character to the sound.

GUINNY grew up learning violin from the age of 3. She went on to teach herself piano, guitar and singing by listening to all her favorite jazz and soul voices and trying to copy them! Aretha, Eartha Kitt, Nina Simone to name a few. While vocally she has been compared to the likes of Róisín Murphy and Jorja Smith, her production techniques showcase her soulful vocals in a fresh new way. She studied production, engineering and sound design at ‘Point Blank Music School’, one of the best music production schools in the world. Diving into the DJ scene 3 years ago, GUINNY is fast becoming one of London’s most exciting underground disc jockeys, playing at some of London’s best music institutions, including Village Underground, The Jazz Cafe, The Royal Albert Hall,  XOYO. Recognized for her eclectic taste as well as her magnetic energy with the crowd. Breaking onto other scenes around Europe this year such as Paris, Milan, Lisbon, GUINNY also notably made her Berghain debut last year and was welcomed back in November for her 2nd appearance in the iconic Panorama Bar.

New artist ALOT, living in New York but comes from Argentina. 26-year-old multi-instrumentalist, rapper, producer, writer and skater who moved to the big apple right after school, trying to "make it" in the hometown of Hip Hop and street culture. His sound is infected by NYC culture in the late 80ies, when early rap and the Latin Bronx culture mashed up, when old school Breakdance Music started to morph into early Dance Music and the Disco clubs were thriving. The Latinos met Afro-American culture and big new underground movements were born, which were the foundation of street style, fashion and music trends over the last years. ALOT the youngster, goes back to the origins and brings up his very own, super fresh, totally rocking proto-house rap in a Latino way.
