Myles Sergé is a low flying techno producer, hard working label head and old school DJ, however he prefers the term ‘reclusive perfectionist’. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Myles experienced a temporary sojourn to the beachside of the the UK’s Brighton before relocating to Berlin. In some respects the American’s music bypasses the melodic classicalism of Detroit for a stripped-back European take on techno, though the mettlesome machine- funk of his raw style, and rough and ready prowess behind the decks, is never too far from the outer-regions of the US’ motorcity he calls home.

Beginnings
The name Anthony Rother first appeared in Germany's vibrant electro scene with his first two releases, "Sex With The Machines" (1997) and "Simulationszeitalter" in 2000. In 1998, the producer from the city of Offenbach set up his own label platform "Psi49Net". With the release of his virtual electro-pop project "Little Computer People" (2001), followed by the album "Hacker" (2002), Rother firmly cemented his reputation as an important proponent of the electronic dance music scene.

LPs & Tracks
In 2004, Rother's "Datapunk" label took over the reigns from "Psi49Net", heralding a realignment of his previous sound. Both his "Popkiller" album and "Super Space Model" (2006) were released to widespread acclaim from critics and the public. With the dawn of his newly coined term "moderntronic", Rother in 2007 embarked on a different route in his exploration of the symbiosis of electro and techno. 2008 then marked the release of Anthony's first fully digitally produced album, "My Name Is Beuys Von Telekraft". In 2010, Rother released "Popkiller 2", the sequel to the first Popkiller album both in terms of the logical progression of familiar motifs and as a retrospective of his own musical development since the first album. With a run of CDs released on the Frankfurt-based label Fax Records – including "62 Minutes on Mars", one of the label's fastest selling releases – Rother revealed the more experimental side of his oeuvre. May 2012 sees the release of Anthony's two newest tracks "Grid Stripper" (including a video track) and "Ape Machine" on his Datapunk imprint. 

Live
In addition to DJ performances at home and abroad, Rother continues to advance his hardware-based live activities. Using machines operated in real time, he has performed countless renditions of his live set at big-name events around the world. 2012 will see Rother debut his newest live concert format. Working closely with video and graphics artists, the new stage show will feature a form of dramaturgy that focuses more on the interaction of music and visuals. Both musically and visually, the two-hour live set bridges the worlds of art and club culture.

Mixes and Remixes
Ever since the start of his career in 1997, Anthony Rother has also managed to make a reputation for himself as a co-producer and remixer, working with some of electronic dance music's most notable artists. Besides projects with ex-Kraftwerk member Karl Bartos, Rother has repeatedly co-produced and remixed Sven Väth (both on his albums "Contact" and "Fire" and for countless tracks and 12"s). He has been a long-term production partner to Munich-based DJ Hell, including work on Hell's LP "Teufelswerk" (2009). Other work includes remixes for artists like Nena, Tiefschwarz, Ellen Alien, Thomas Schumacher and AUX-88 from Detroit in the US.

SUNDAY MORNING - 22 - Anthony Rother

Dexter is one of electro’s most important figures. The Dutchman has been a key part of the scene for nearly twenty years, both with his own solo works, but also in collaboration with the likes of Steffi.  Together the pair run their own Klakson label, a small but well formed outlet that constantly invigorates the genre. As a performer he is famously adroit in the live arena, but also does magical things with records across multiple decks. His roots as a breakdancer mean he is a slave to a powerful rhythm, and that shows in this new mix he has put together. 

Though it lasts only an hour, Dexter packs so much you feel you have been riding his grooves for much longer: there are plenty of slithering analogue lines and sci-fi melodies, but also much more raw and rugged drum patterns that encourage you to jerk your body as the tempo moves from 120 up to 135bpm at the hands of tracks from labels like Klakson, Viewlexx, Fragile and Apron. Never settling in one place for too long, you’ll find yourself lost in acid, then catching a breath in a more serene synth workout then ducking and diving below a volley of percussion before you can even say ‘hell yeah!’

Richard Fearless's fingerprints are permanently engrained on the electronic music scene of the last 25 years. As Black Acid, Dead Elvis, Death In Vegas and under his solo name, Fearless has formed rock bands, written with Liam Gallagher, crossed genres boundaries and been ever present whilst inevitably remaining difficult to categorise.  From headlining festivals to running his Drone label most recently, which has seen some impeccable music from himself and talent he's supporting, Fearless has been, well, Fearless.

As a DJ over the last few decades, we've witnessed Richard carve a niche that operates around new wave, techno, electro and a more industrial, and futuristic-dystopian take on electronic sounds.  He's versatile but retains an edge that's always a little uncomfortable and sinister.  Here we hear him in a slightly more direct mode than we might normally, with a techno mix which aims more squarely at the dancefloor...however, the edge remains!

Podcast Nr. 26 is made by lovely Lauer who gave it the name „Weizenbierbowle“. An excellent journey through his cosmos of house music. Sometimes cheesy, sometimes with a good portion of disco, sometimes with a proto 80s feel, all the time with the special Lauer-Vibe which makes him so unique as a Producer and DJ.
King of remix duties, stable collabos, part of Tuff City Kids, resident at Robert Johnson, active in what we call the FFM-Schleckermäulchen-Scene, drummer in the infamous Destroyér back in the days, this list could go on and on and on. We´re really happy to have him on board! 
This podcast provides you with all you should know to be prepared to dance to his tunes the 25th of January at IfZ at our next party alongside Skatebård, Best Boy Electric and Rimini Hartmann.
