The lightly placed kick keeps the pulse present and allows space for Brian Temba to weave his way through the strings, creating a warm and hypnotic glow. They have given us an EP of theirs as a little "Thanks For Being You" present. We hope you like it. The 1st track "Moments" is like a house music version of a box of chocolates. Soul Bump would be the disco sampled track version of a romantic dinner. China Moses, one of nowadays hottest soul jazz vocalist and daughter of jazz superstar Dee Dee Bridgewater, entrusted the Mochi Men to explore a deeper side of her music.
In less than a year, the parisian duet have built themselves quite a solid reputation with their previous remixes of UK jazz funk sensation Resolution 88 (MR001), latin funk act Setenta (MR002) and legendary acid jazz outfit Brooklyn Funk Essentials (MR003).
Now being given an entire carte blanche by China Moses, our Mochi guys captured two original soul jazz grooves from her latest opus, "Nightintales", to bring them into new danceable territories.
"Breaking Point (Mochi Men remix)" has turned into a haunting upbeat jam, melting afro deep house influences with stunning vocals by Miss Moses and spiritual infatuated vibes, while the « Young Pulse deep Dub » version is irresistibly drifting toward a chamanical dance trip. In contrast comes "Disconnected (Mochi Men remix)", a pure and joyful 80's boogie funk flavored anthem, certified neck factor trigger !

His ability to span the genres is also apparent in his past work as part of Spiritual South, writing and producing the hit single ‘Green Gold’ amongst others.
