Indeed, of all of the 35 artists actually performing at Passenger Presents Adventures in Aviemore - Clair is the artist i am most looking forward to witnessing - she will close off our launch party at The Vault on Friday 6th September after Darren from 808 State. Hailing from Scotland, with a career spanning over two decades, the now Barcelona based DJ, producer, coach and presenter, Funk D'Void aka Lars Sandberg’s influence on the dance music scene is undeniable. 

A discography spanning over 20 years has included remixes for New Order, Underworld, Kevin Saunderson, Deetron, Laurent Garnier, Paul Van Dyk, Steve Rachmad, Shlomi Aber, Stephan Bodzin, Scott Grooves and Ian Pooley. 

He will close off our 2nd Stage at The Old Bridge Inn on Saturday night and we are extremely lucky to have him.

It will be an ordinary Saturday afternoon in Glasgow when you stumble upon the most extraordinary discovery. 

You’d heard whispers of this place. But today, something will feel different. The pub’s wooden doors will creak open for you by a friendly face and warm embrace, the smell of malt whiskey and Glasgow's past filling your nose. Inside, the atmosphere will be as it always was and is — dimly lit, with the chatter of locals buzzing softly, but there will be something else, something more electric in the air.

You will make your way to the back, where a hallway will lead to a little-used door, almost inconspicuous against the worn plaster.

What lies beyond won't just be another room; it will be a portal to another world.

The best sound system in the city — maybe in the entire country — The Collosus they call it, will rattle the walls.

Here, you can be anyone, or no one at all.

But this won't just be a place. This is a community, a space where you can escape, dance, and celebrate life in all it's chaotic glory.

As a resident DJ of the Passenger DJ collective, Ian is no stranger to the rhythm of Glasgow's underground house scene. His upcoming set at McChuills, the legendary venue renowned for its intimate atmosphere and state-of-the-art sound system, is more than just another gig. It will be a milestone—a chance to weave together the music that has shaped him.

For Ian, warm-ups are not about big drops or thumping basslines. They are an opportunity to create anticipation, to take the crowd on a journey. His philosophy: set the mood, don’t steal the show. Each record will be chosen for its texture and depth, for its ability to whisper stories to those who listen closely.

Stelios Vassiloudis Live Recording at Passenger in Glasgow

Julio Diaz, a dynamic DJ from Huelva on Spain’s southwest coast, has been shaping dance floors since 1993. Before making waves in Scotland’s electronic music scene, he played at iconic clubs such as Río Café in Portugal, Made in Madrid, 100% Retro Sound Málaga, and Sala Cosmos in Seville. He was also a resident at Chroma Club, Séptimo Cielo, and Étnica House Club between 2005 and 2016. 

Now a resident of the Passenger DJ collective, he blends Belgian techno, Glasgow progressive house, and French electroclash, influenced by Gaetano Parisio, Oscar Mulero, Bruno Sanchioni, The Hacker, Kiko, Miss Kittin, Soma, and Limbo. 

His deep, driving, and cutting-edge sound cements his place in Scotland’s underground music scene and is a personal favourite of all of the collective.

AMK Passenger Resident following on from the best DJ in Scotland Domenic Cappello - the postman always delivers they say - certainly did on this occasion. SUBLIME. 

Allan McKenzie, aka AMK, proved once again why he’s one of Passenger’s most versatile and accomplished resident DJs. A true journeyman of the scene and master selector, he has the rare ability to warm up, close, and move fluidly through tempos in any setting. 

At the Passenger Dance Tent at the Back Doune the Rabbit Hole Festival, following the legendary Domenic Cappello was no small task but AMK didn’t just fill those big boots, he brought the whole shoe shop with him. 

His set radiated raw energy and unrelenting pressure, culminating in a breathtaking, melancholy track that at one point had myself and others in complete awe.

It was an unforgettable performance, cementing his reputation as one of the best, and we’ll be back for more at next year’s festival, 17–19 July.

There's something rebellious about playing records completely improvised. Like buying a lucky bag of sweets from the ice cream van and finding a prize inside it, every unheard B side in your record collection knows this only too well. 

Nowadays, you can buy a set of Pioneer CDJ's for £7000 from Amazon and be 'sync button' mixing within hours. It's all the rage afterall.

We on the other hand spend £7000+ a year searching for vinyl and in support of new underground artists. 

Sometimes when we play our records, we discover a phenomenon known by very few - the hidden 3rd track - an act of when 2 different records become one and resultantly the " 3rd Hidden Track " is revealed.

What a joy it will be if you find your own personal feeling of this.

Records are living things, surface noise and all. They bang better. They want to live.

If you know - you know.

69db is a pioneer of live improvised techno, crafting raw, hypnotic soundscapes driven by analog machines and spontaneous energy.

Since the late ’80s, as a key member of Spiral Tribe, he’s pushed boundaries between rave, art, and resistance, turning dance floors into anarchic, communal experiments. 

Spiral Tribe’s free-party ethos reshaped underground techno culture in the UK and rest of the world, birthing the techno and free party movements that still define Europe’s rave scene today.

Sebastian Vaughn aka 69db played the closing set on the Saturday night and what a show this was if you were ever so ever so lucky to be present in this special moment in time.

Acitone’s track lands firmly in the club realm, and is already earning support from legends such as Laurent Garnier and Radio Slave. His loyalty to the scene shows too, he’s been attending Passenger since its inception, now turning up on the production side. “Emerge” marks the next chapter for Acitone, inviting you to join the journey.

This DJ mix is an absolute masterclass in everything I love about A Deeper Groove.

You can hear the full weight of their 30-plus years in dance culture woven into every transition, deep electronic textures melting effortlessly into warm, soulful grooves. 

That Scotland-born, Berlin-shaped sensibility shines through loud and clear, capturing the spirit of those formative nights at places like Panorama Bar, Berghain, and all the underground corners that helped refine their sound.

What blows me away most is how naturally they move across genres, just like they always have. Hip hop foundations, acid house edges, Detroit pulse, Chicago swing, soulful uplifts, none of that single-genre nonsense. 

If it sounds good, they play it, and this mix is living proof. It feels like being transported back to 1989, wide-eyed and 17 again, discovering all the music that changes you for life.

Passenger Presents_A Deeper Groove.

Over the last 20 years i have held residencies at the world famous Sub Club in Glasgow, Mas, with Glasgow Disco King Billy Woods & various secret after-hours venues all over the city of Glasgow, particularly a certain one on Bridge Street, after a Pressure party, in olden times.

In Europe i have held a residency on the Electro Juice Boat in Bordeaux for 15 years and at the Wunderboat soiree's on Bordeaux's premier venue, The IBoat. 

My biggest influences are local legends Subculture, of Sub Club, Glasgow, where i've covered warm ups and closing slots for residents Harri and Domenic, my other main and equal influence is Slam, particularly during the Daft Punk years, me having ran their promo in the mid 90's and being part of their team that started and promoted the Pressure party in the late 90's.

Although i have also ran a lot of my own nights alongside managing the promotions team at the Sub Club for 10 years, it's the love and joy in performance that keeps bringing me back to being behind the turntables and playing records as a form of artistic expression.

Having lived in Den Haag Netherlands for some time, i am now back in Glasgow and available for bookings.
