"Long Way Home", the highly anticipated album by Rio Thomas, will be released on 3/3/23. This is Rio's 7th album, and 11th project. The album contains 13 tracks, produced entirely by Damien Rose. 

The album begins with words from the late great, "Dr. Sebi", discussing the importance of self love, a recurring topic on the project. This sets the tone for Rio's grand entrance. "I didn't look hard enough to see your view" are the first bars delivered on the opening track, "The Shoe". Rio immediately dives into a deep pool of introspection, taking listeners on a trip through his mind. Leaving no stones unturned, he openly discusses his fears, desires, insecurities, mental and physical health. Rio is excellent at maneuvering through topics and cleverly making light of heavy situations, he has found a great medium between cool and conscious. His fiercely passionate bars are calmly delivered with a smooth laid back flow, and a slight raspy undertone complimenting the music's emotional intensity. 

Rio and Damien exhibit great chemistry. They are both great at walking the line between contemporary and classic. The album displays a vast array of sounds, containing rare and well known Soul/R&B samples warped into delightfully complex, futuristic melodies. Damien's beats are filled with untimely chops and breaks, pulling the listener's ear, enhancing the unique sound. 

"Long Way Home" is another milestone on Rio's journey, which has only begun, despite how far he has come. This album demonstrates immense growth and his unimaginable potential to breakthrough as one of our era's most memorable artists. Rio has once again displayed his outstanding song writing and performance ability. This is a strong body of work, breaking the mold, ensuring its capacity to withstand the test of time.
