After the success of our first various artists release, ‘The Voice of EKOU’, we’d like to present to you our next installment, ‘The Full Spectrum’. This project started as an idea to create a platform for up and coming producers, however over the previous months has developed into something that has allowed us to include both newcomers and established artists alike. 
	
In the 2 and a half years since our first release, we’ve been on a constant journey through sound, and have been a platform for a variety of artists, all of whom produce a variety of styles under the drum & bass umbrella. With ‘The Full Spectrum’, we hope to showcase our journey for you, our audience; some of you have been with us from the beginning, others are new to the label - either way we hope you know what to expect!

This is our representation of the full spectrum of drum & bass, and what the genre means to us. We hope you enjoy listening to this massive VA just as much as we did putting it together. 

‘The Full Spectrum’ has 22 tracks, split over 2 parts, and features both newcomers and seasoned artists alike. Part 1 drops exclusively on February 4th via Bandcamp and Beatport, followed two weeks later by Part 2 on February 18th.

Hailing from the north side of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Jam Thieves has been operating as a solo act since 2020.  Looking to build on his renowned versatility as a drum and bass producer working across various corners of the genre, Jam Thieves’ solo work usually centres around his iconic minimal style – full of funk, vocals and an undeniably upbeat vibe. 

The title track ‘Mandrake’ is the perfect example of this new direction, building around a looping female vocal the track develops and drops into a heavy bassline roller led by the funk-fuelled staccato drum work that drives the tune through ever developing turns. ‘Moon Rock’ continues this theme with more vocal edits and progressive bass modulations. 

When combined with the head-down, tech-funk work out of ‘Savana’ and the guitar fused deep roller of ‘Mind Control’ the EP demonstrates the versatility of this talented producer. 

‘Machine Gun’, a killer collab with label favourite Nymfo, completes this spectacular first outing for Jam Thieves on the label.

When it comes to fat breaks and disgusting wobblers, there’s not many young artists doing it as good as Napes right now.

He first came on our radar when he bootlegged “Chem Trails” by Aries, Gold Dubs, Bevan and Andy Sim (Feat. Lion Art) – a tune we released as an official remix back in 2020 – and soon after the drum and bass scene began waking up to this awesome talent.

Don’t be fooled by his lack of social presence or the sporadic releases, Napes is sitting on some absolute fire right now, and Born On Road are gassed to be sharing it with you. Introducing his Chopper Gunner EP – five tracks of pure breaky, jungle goodness. It’s a release providing a fresh window into the direction for Napes’ sound, with grime influences wrapped in gully jungle blends. It’s some of the most unique music we’ve heard recently, and we have no doubt these tracks will be tearing up soundsystems far and wide very soon.
