"With this mix I compiled a few old favourites with some of my eclectic lockdown finds to capture the essence of a smoky, late night improv sesh focusing on broken, half step rhythms and sultry live jazz.

This mix really. can only be described as pure class.

Slumber Junkie gives us a peek into his dream club night. 

One third of the outfit that makes up Ross From Friends’ live band, Slumber Junkie is a London-based producer who has been quietly releasing euphoric breaks and old school anthems on local labels such as Technical Glitch Records and Ratface Records. His productions fit within that classic London rave sound that transports you instantly to the bustling and electrifying nightlife the city has to offer. Slumber Junkie’s contribution to our mix series perfectly encapsulates that too, reminding us of the excitement as we await to see how the night unfolds. 

Speaking about the mix, Slumber Junkie says, “with this mix I just wanted to try and fit eeeeeverything I wanna hear on a night out into one hour. It’s largely made up of tracks that kept me going throughout the last 2 years. Even with the euphoria of everything opening up again I think there’s also been a lot of anxiety and a kind of melancholy, and that’s something I think started to come out in this mix."

The production duo of Warren Cummings and Joe Danvers have covered an impressive amount of ground in the London rave scene in just 3 years. Since 2019 when they first officially began making music together, Kassian's exploration of house and electronica has since splintered into an exciting bevvy of after-hours dance sounds they can rightly call their own.

Running with the momentum they have picked in the build up to their forthcoming 'Chance Is Our Greatest Ally' EP, out April 15, the boys are now focused on platforming emerging talent within their local underground scene, whilst also creating a home for their own output via their new imprint, Faux Poly.

Ahead of their label launch party at Peckham's recently opened venue The Carpet Shop this April 23, the pair have toasted the latest in our Dummy mix series: "With the launch of our label Faux Poly, we're actively pushing our own boundaries in terms of blending genres and moods that have the right energy. This mix is a reflection of what we're feeling at the moment and the direction we're heading in as artists."
