Hey all,
not necessarily stoned, but beautiful.
We have entered the Summer 2024 Membership Drive for KPFT. As a humanoid living in late-stage capitalism in America, I've always recoiled from having to ask another for money. Well, some of the actions we must undergo, inevitably will take us out of our comfort zone. 
Having been exposed to KPFT through a big sister who was dating a station manager who was 15 years her elder, I reveled in the "glitz" of radio. One of my first experiences with fundraising at KPFT was at their HQ in The Atlanta Life Insurance Building in downtown Houston. The DJ Marty Manning had a brown paper bag of Mexican marijuana and a very large black studded dildo as pledge gifts. Who's to say whether those moments were the previsions of my future, as I find myself entangled in the Dharma and Karma of existence?

The term "deep cuts" in music refers to lesser-known or fan-favorite songs, often found on albums but not widely known or played. This week's offerings bring to light some of the lesser-known tracks from noteworthy psychedelic albums. Having been a young lad when these notable recordings were produced, my exposure to them came a decade later and were apportioned in "the hits" increments. Here are a few cuts that might not have entered your orbit.

Since I'm mining the Southern Backtones back catalog, I may as well offer up another of my favorite 'spooky' songs on their self-titled CD, 'Little Ghost'.  You don't get any hints about the subject matter on this one.  A heavy topic, handled masterfully.  Enjoy the amazing Steve Christensen mix (I helped).  More Kevin Ryan orchestral arrangement as well.  A fantastic song.
