Born In Clinton ,Maryland, November 20th, Thabo “Tha Blast” Mokoena was, an still is, an instrument of music. Growing up in the United States, the twenty two year-old artist was exposed to not only the popular international sound of Hip-Hop, R&b and Soul, but also to the native rhythms of Kwaito, House and Afro hop.

This talented singer/rapper managed to fuse both cultures as a result of moving to South Africa in 1995, where he’s spent the remainder of his academic and musical career. 

After completing high school and achieving countless cultural and musical awards, the young artist moved to Johannesburg to pursue his passion whilst studying for his degree in Music at the University of Witwatersrand. 

In 2014, Thabo adopted the alias “That Kid Turbo” & formed his live band entitled ‘Tha Blast Effect,” a collection of Wits musicians hailing from Johannesburg. This newly formed team of artists incorporated a fusion of sounds, indegineous to the S.A popular culture, performing At the S.A.B.C & The Neighbor goods Market to name a short list

Now with an upcoming album and a sincere fan base, this young talent has a bright future ahead of him. Whether as a singer, songwriter, producer or rapper, nothing appears to be able to stop…..
