'Pari intervallo' was initially composed as music for four parts without specifying the instrumentation and was premiered  in October 1976. In 1980 was set for Organ.
The musical material follows the meaning of the title (pari intervallo – in Latin “in the equal distance”) and has been built on two strictly parallel voices, whose distance from each other remains the same throughout.

Arvo Pärt - 'Pari Intervallo'

Variations for the Healing of Arinushka for solo piano was composed in 1977. The piece contains six short variations, the first three of which are in minor key and the other three in major. They are based on a very simple theme of a rising and falling octave scale. The clear and transparent soundscape of this early tintinnabuli composition is created by the resonating overtones  and subtle use of the pedal.

"Forecast" is the result of the dialogue between the photographer Ilias Georgiadis and musician Daphne Kotsiani. The complete project work consists of a physical photobook and a cassette including three remixes of the original score by the Greek musicians Yiorgos Fotiadis, Iraklis Dimitriadis and Dani Joss.
The photobook was published by Origini Edizioni (Italy, May 2023)

"These Earthly Shores" is a corpus of images that explores the definition and origin of the poetic landscape as it relates to memory and the passage of time. The geography of the place becomes a depiction of a peculiar natural beauty that emerges as a recollection rather than a faithful representation of its physical form. The natural world is transformed into a set of symbolic portraits that reflect the emotional connection to various pasts, the senses, the complexities, the nostalgic and invisible stories woven into the humane.

The creation of a new context is proposed inside the book (publised with Origini Edizioni, 2025) by incorporating poems by the Greek poet Dimitris Leontzakos. The poems do not impose a way to interpret the pictures nor the pictures define the form and the content of the poems. Instead, a multilayered flow of poetry appears to co-exist. The relationship created by the poems and the images transforms that context into a completely new and organic, a non-linear narrative.

These Earthly Shores

Daphne Kotsiani  is a pianist from Thessaloniki. Her repertory embraces music from a variety of styles, ranged from classical to contemporary and improvisatory music. Except from music, she has developed a great interest in photography which she uses as a main medium of expression and exploration.
