Palace Winter are Copenhagen-based Australian Carl Coleman and Dane Caspar Hesselager. The duo’s sophomore album Nowadays is released on May 4, 2018 via Tambourhinoceros. Built around floating keys, rhythm guitar and an insisting beat, Nowadays is a bright and moody album that further develops the group’s unique sound.

Arriving in adulthood is a bitter-sweet experience. Abandoned childhood fascinations make way for tough life lessons. But also the hope and potential that comes with taking charge – of both your life and others’.These are the central themes in Nowadays, the second full-length album from Palace Winter.

Having played in bands separately for years, a mutual respect for each other’s styles encouraged them to start writing together. Carl coming from a song-writing background. Caspar, a producer and classically trained pianist. Both, however, appreciate a strong melody, which is evident throughout the atmospheric dark-pop they create.

Their debut single was released in 2015, followed by the EP Medication and in the summer of 2016, their debut album, “Waiting for the World to Turn” had arrived. All released via Copenhagen-based label Tambourhinoceros.

The support that followed was widespread. Number 1 on Hype Machine and overwhelming reviews from heavy hitters like The Guardian, NME and Line of Best Fit. Radio support came from Guy Garvey, Lauren Laverne and Tom Ravenscroft at BBC 6 Music, KCRW, KEXP, Norway’s P3 and Denmark’s P6.

The band have successfully brought their cinematic psych-pop to the stage. With an increasing number of sold out live shows under their belts, fans have not been left disappointed by their hypnotic and mind-blowing live sets.

Tamper is like a good sandwich. The meat of the sandwich, the pastrami if you will, is John Gribbin's salt of the earth folk songs. His lyrics span the personal and political, and his melodies could have been lifted from a centuries old Irish song (shhhhhhhh!). Now this is all delivered to your ears via Aaron Barnard's off kilt grooves(the bread in this analogy). Clearly the guy has been listening to wayyyy too much Dilla and he can't seem to land it on the beat.
So then anyways, lastly, ya throw on some melty, analog, arpeggiated synths(the cheez) and then my friends, you've got a sambo!

The simple power of DRAMA’s musical expression is matched only by that of their work ethic. Since 2014, the Chicago-based duo have bootstrapped a subtle rise on their own terms, self-releasing several EPs and mapping multiple tours with Midwestern grit. A multicultural collaboration between producer Na’el Shehade and vocalist Via Rosa, the project plays to the complementary dynamics of their unlikely pairing, blurring the lines between R&B and dance-pop, heartbreak and bliss.

Rosa grew up in a musical household; her parents played in a reggae band, they toured as a family, homeschooling Rosa into her early teens, limiting her listening primarily to Sade, oldies, Brazilian and Afrobeat music. After moving to Chicago, she connected with hip-hop collective THEMPeople. Born in Chicago, Shehade fell in love with DJ culture as a kid and took up music production and engineering; his interest eventually led to professional opportunities, including studio work with Chance the Rapper, Kanye West, and music projects for MTV and Bravo.

In early jam sessions the chemistry was clear; Rosa’s soulful delivery interlocked with Shehade’s chic Chicago house-infused production style. A lovesick sound emerged over two EPs — Gallows in 2016 and Lies After Love in 2018 — and caught the ear of Ghostly International. With its founding roots in the Midwest, independent philosophy, and wayward approach to electro-pop and dance music, the label proved to be the logical home for the next era of DRAMA.

WE-ARE-Z - London based indie-pop, wonk-rock.
WE-ARE English producer Marc Arciero, and French multi instrumentalists Gabriel Cazes and Clement Leguidcoq, guitarist Max Raguideau-Obadia and last but certainly not least Guillaume Charreau on drums.

WE-ARE thrilling new purveyors of quirkily rhythmic indie-pop with an askew lyrical slant. WE sing songs about plastic surgery, drug ODs and auto-destruction. 

WE-ARE a self-contained unit who write and perform their own material, and produce it in their studio in south-west London.

WE formed in 2012, their songs are idiosyncratic yet accessible, largely observational, and wholly rhythmic and melodic. Falling tells of “late-night chaos” in British Cities. Easy recalls the time WE were all simultaneously travelling the globe: Gabby in America, Archie in the former Soviet Union and Clement in Mongolia. Airbrush addresses “the tragedy and absurdity of changing your image, whether in the flesh, or via alterations to photos, to fall in line with modern acceptance of how one should look.” Fadeaway concerns the first visit by Gabby to London, when Archie tried to show him a good time.  WE ended up staying the night in St Thomas' Hospital after a friend of Archie’s scored a substance of dubious origin in Soho and overdosed. 

WE-ARE described as “alternative indie pop that you could file next to bands like Vampire Weekend”. Melody is key. Additional influences include movies, and biographies “of people who have lived extraordinary lives and existed on the fringes of what's considered normal”. Examples include Caravaggio the artist, Don McCullen and Kevin Carter the war photojournalists “who were tormented by what they'd seen”, and Diane Arbus who “celebrated 'weirdness' and ‘ugliness'."
