Dapz

Dapz has been heavily into music from a young age. At 13 he took up Dj’ing Drum & Bass and by 16 progressed onto writing his own music production in 1998.

In 2000 he studied at Leicester College to complete a course in Electronic Music & Recording to learn more about the studio side of composing and Production.
Following on from this, In 2004 Dapz completed a National Diploma in BTEC Level 3 Music Technology.

By 2005 he began working with MC $pyda, opening him up to a range of new ideas and a chance to further develop his skills in a studio environment.
This step into the music industry also led him to meet and collaborate with more established artists and recording vocals for the likes of: Daddy Freddy, Benny Page (The Burial), DJ Clipz Aka Redlight (Pass it Around) and Futurebound & Matrix (Knightrider).

In 2006 Dapz completed a 7302 City & Guilds in Teacher Training and went to work for a Youth Organisation company teaching Dj’ing and music production.

2007 was a successful year as new music projects took Dapz not just around the UK but overseas to Germany to do live PA’s with MC $pyda, Mc Bomma and Slipz under the name of Strugglaz. 

In 2008 Dapz started to produce 4x4 Bassline with Slipz as a side project from Drum & Bass. 
After taking the scene by storm, the duo (Slipz & Dapz) was getting huge support from main stream Dj’s leading to Dj Cameo playing there productions on his Radio 1xtra radio shows.
It wasn’t long after that Passenger Records signed them both to a sub label called Basslayerz and remixed "Tell Me You Love It" Featuring Blu Rum from The US. 

2009 was when the hit single (Balaclava) with Mc $pyda got released, and Dapz was recording vocals for Skepta, Dj Phantasy, Nicky Black Market, Mc Bassman, Trigga and more.
  
As Dapz was making head way in the Drum & Bass scene, he was getting support from Dj’s in the UK and the US. 
Also in 2009 Dapz won Track of the year on Kemet Fm supported on Jo Nebulas Drum & Bass Weekly show with his epic version of (Buck Rodgers).
 
Within this busy year, Dapz had a number of releases on various other Drum & Bass labels such as Subsonic Audio, Dread Nought, Abstract VIP, Junction 11 and more.

In 2010 Dapz teamed up with runner up best female Drum & Bass Dj Misrepresent to form Silent Code. 
By 2011/12 the duo had interviews in K Mag and Mix, support from BBC Introducing to follow up with many digital and vinyl releases on labels such as Viper Recordings (Engaged), Physmatics Music (Dutty Gal Ft Ragga Twins), Formation Records (Black Remix), Dirt Lies And Audio (6 Million Dolla Man) and Easy Records (Box Your Chimp). 
After creating a solid name in the scene they both was booked to Dj across Europe as Silent Code and individually, Their next step was to take on their own digital Label called (Sliced Note Recordings) this created many possibility’s to release their own productions along with signing other artists.   


By 2013 Dapz and Misrepresent  moved to other bigger and better project and had three of their tracks used on EA Games, Need For Speed game that sold over 9million copy’s worldwide.

Also in 2013 Dapz started to mixdown & Master Projects for up and coming producers as well as establish artists. One in particular was Dj Rap (Proper Talent Records) which lead to a re mix of the mighty well know track called Spiritual Aura.

In 2014, Dapz Teams up with Jo Nebula and does a remix of (Twisted World) this track has had nothing but love, supported by most A Listed Dj’s across the world. They both plan to follow this up with a track entitled (Turn It Up).

Still early 2014, Dapz started up a new project of Mixing & Mastering with a service called Compound Audio. This has now lead him to not only Engineer for Artist’s but to build a huge Customer based platform that’s opened up the doors to more possibility’s with in the music scene.

At present date, Dapz has gone solo and taken part in many remix projects and collaboration’s  with major artists such as Snoop Dog (Flip it), Fatman Scoop (Bass Dunk). Along with Paul Rayner, Charlotte Devaney, Mampi Swift (Charge Recordings) & Jo Nebula (Back 2 You)

2014 Has already been a very busy year as Dapz continues his journey mixing, mastering, remixing and working with a range of artists in many genera’s of music to full fill his dreams.
