Moonbeam Digital is proud to present its next release with US artist Darin Epsilon, who has previously worked with labels such as Renaissance, Sudbeat, Hope Recordings, and Armada. His collaboration with Chris Sevier aka Ghost WARS titled 'All That Could've Been' is a melancholy vocal tune filled with raw feelings and emotions. Chris got in touch after a friend's recommendation and upon reading VIBE Magazine, which named Darin as one of their 30 DJs To Watch In 2014. For the remixes, they enlisted the help of acclaimed producers Matt Lange and Andre Sobota.

Marking our 60th release here on Emergent Shores, we are truly proud to finally bring you the fully remixed 'Visions LP' from stand out Emergent Music veteran Andrew Lang.

Having been a true name stay at Emergent Music, as well as our lead audio engineer for our 3 imprints, we were more than honored to showcase Andrew's masterful collection of original productions last year here at Emergent Shores. Now, we are equally as excited to bring you that same album, this time remixed by 10 standout Emergent Artists which includes the likes of: South Pole, Sedi, Roman Prus, Makaseo, Lesh, Jettan, Ryan Z, Jeef B, Zuubi and Cairn, all of which delivered some truly stand-out remixes that brought a whole plethora of variation to an already varied album to begin with.

The 'Distractions EP' is my first concept work: a piece of music divided into four movements intended to be listened to continuously, clocking in at a half an hour worth of music. The EP is an introduction to a different side of my writing style, giving the listener an insight to my interest in long-form composition. My influences on this piece range from IDM to film music, which give me a wide pallet of sounds and moods to chose from. While the tempo of the piece is 126 BPM, it has the feel of a melodic techno record with the soul of a late 90's progressive trance track. The mood of the piece ranges from the foreboding and anticipating first movement, to the glitch-ridden, hopeful-sounding fourth movement. I used a fair amount of alternative digital signal processing and synthesis techniques, including C Sound and granular synthesis to give the piece's sound design a unique character and timbre. Thanks for the support, and I hope you enjoy the piece.

BIOGRAPHY

Darin Epsilon is a globally renowned DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner, widely celebrated as one of the pioneers of Melodic House & Techno and Progressive House. As the host of the Perspectives radio show and podcast, he has reached tens of thousands of listeners each month, solidifying his influence within the global dance music community. Since launching his label Perspectives Digital in 2010, Darin has continually expanded his artistic reach, further establishing himself as a key figure in the electronic music scene.

Originally from Chicago, Darin’s early career was shaped by his pivotal residency at the legendary Vision Nightclub. This was followed by his move to Los Angeles in 2008, where he worked with renowned brands such as Insomniac at Exchange LA, GIANT at Avalon and Vanguard, and Monday Night Social. His journey continued in 2017 when he relocated to Berlin, the world’s electronic music capital. By 2022, he further cemented his position on the global stage with a highly coveted DJ residency at Ritter Butzke, one of Berlin’s most beloved venues. 

Darin's career milestones are a testament to his pure talent and determination. In 2011, he gained international recognition by winning John Digweed’s 'Structures Two' DJ Competition, sponsored by Bedrock and Ableton Live, and in 2016, he was nominated for 'Best Progressive House Artist’ at the Beatport Awards. He also became the first artist ever to release a Progressive House production tutorial after teaming up with SonicAcademy.com, further demonstrating his expertise and commitment to music education.

Throughout his lengthy career, Darin has released on the industry's most recognized labels such as (in alphabetical order) Einmusika, Katermukke, Renaissance, Ritter Butzke Records, Selador, Siona Records, Sudbeat, and Warung Recordings. His tracks have consistently charted in Beatport's Top 10, and he has garnered widespread acclaim working alongside top-tier artists such as DJ CHUS, Fur Coat, Jerome Isma-Ae, Hernan Cattaneo, Miss Monique, Quivver, Robert Babicz, Sasha Carassi, Sebastien Leger, Sydney Blu, among countless others.

If you have ever been in the audience to catch one of his live sets, it becomes immediately apparent that he is proficiently skilled as a DJ as well. His ability to connect with audiences is unparalleled, and his relentless touring schedule has taken him from the world’s most prestigious venues—Ministry of Sound and EGG (London), Avalon and Exchange (Los Angeles), Stereo (Montreal), The Bow (Buenos Aires)—to the most popular festivals such as Amsterdam Dance Event, Burning Man, Ultra Music Festival, BPM Festival, South By Southwest (SXSW), and Berlin Dance Music Event.

However, it would be foolish to say that his achievements have been purely confined to the club setting. Darin’s music has also caught the attention of global brands like MTV, Algoriddim djay, American DJ, Elation Professional, and Global Truss, for whom he has licensed content and provided the soundtrack to their promotional videos. His tracks have also been featured in several feature films, placing him among a select group of producers whose music has graced the big screen.

With hard work, passion, unwavering dedication to his art, and support from the industry's most revered names, this Chicago native turned Berlin transplant aims to prove that this is only the beginning to a long and promising career.
