With our 16th instalment we introduce NYVS on his debut EP on Chocolat Records. A sultry and groovy introduction is on hand with a 2 track delight. 

The titled number “Avahria Field” gets us off on CR016. Raw and swinged percussion sets the tone with balearic strings and panned synth droplets. A deep and satisfying baseline is announced at the drop of the first break, in harmony with the sense of wonder created with the elements. A solid groover with a touch of class. 

On the flip side NYVS gives us Bohemian dropout. Mood setting congas, pads and ambient atmospheres takes us into worlds unknown. A deep and moody baseline sets us in motion to be might by a beautiful brass lead. This surreal arrangement heightens the senses with some style.

Like his favourite band Radiohead, Nicolas Rada continues to impress with ever more interesting and daring music. Clear are the improvements on every release he drops as solo artists or in collaboration with the Bristol titan Nick Warren. So much so that his influences such as Hernan Cattaneo, Danny Howells, Guy J and, of course, Warren himself, have now become peers and high profile fans. 

‘Satori’ opens his account here, a deeply satisfying groover that showcases his prolific talents in the studio. Delicate pads waft into earshot nestling against the sparse percussive body of the track whispering of delights to come. On ‘No Matter What’ Rada ups the pressure with a nagging sawtoothed bass and eerie echoing vocal shots. Dubby and spacious, its cinematic feel belies its epicness.

Zoom Zoom Records race onto their next release with Tomy Wahl the man serving up the four tracks of goodness.

Hedra opens up with a haunting lead melody over crashing perc and driving beats. It's a dramatic tune with real texture and tension. Antieke then layers up tumbling drums, perc and driving bass sounds into a chunky groove that is perfectly loose, ethnic and hypnotic.

Macumba then keeps it more deep with the same style of perc but rich, rubbery bass powering along the tune as you get lost in the magic of the melodies. Mutacion del Porvenir rounds out with a twinkling sense of melody and surging synth and bass combos that takes you to the next dimension.

Darin Epsilon is a globally renowned DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner, widely celebrated as one of the pioneers of Melodic House & Techno and Progressive House. As the host of the Perspectives radio show and podcast, he has reached tens of thousands of listeners each month, solidifying his influence within the global dance music community. Since launching his label Perspectives Digital in 2010, Darin has continually expanded his artistic reach, further establishing himself as a key figure in the electronic music scene.

Originally from Chicago, Darin’s early career was shaped by his pivotal residency at the legendary Vision Nightclub. This was followed by his move to Los Angeles in 2008, where he worked with renowned brands such as Insomniac at Exchange LA, GIANT at Avalon and Vanguard, and Monday Night Social. His journey continued in 2017 when he relocated to Berlin, the world’s electronic music capital. By 2022, he further cemented his position on the global stage with a highly coveted DJ residency at Ritter Butzke, one of Berlin’s most beloved venues. 

Darin's career milestones are a testament to his pure talent and determination. In 2011, he gained international recognition by winning John Digweed’s 'Structures Two' DJ Competition, sponsored by Bedrock and Ableton Live, and in 2016, he was nominated for 'Best Progressive House Artist’ at the Beatport Awards. He also became the first artist ever to release a Progressive House production tutorial after teaming up with SonicAcademy.com, further demonstrating his expertise and commitment to music education.

Throughout his lengthy career, Darin has released on the industry's most recognized labels such as (in alphabetical order) Einmusika, Katermukke, Renaissance, Ritter Butzke Records, Selador, Siona Records, Sudbeat, and Warung Recordings. His tracks have consistently charted in Beatport's Top 10, and he has garnered widespread acclaim working alongside top-tier artists such as DJ CHUS, Fur Coat, Jerome Isma-Ae, Hernan Cattaneo, Miss Monique, Quivver, Robert Babicz, Sasha Carassi, Sebastien Leger, Sydney Blu, among countless others.

His ability to connect with audiences is unparalleled, and his relentless touring schedule has taken him from the world’s most prestigious venues—Ministry of Sound and EGG (London), Avalon and Exchange (Los Angeles), Stereo (Montreal), The Bow (Buenos Aires)—to the most popular festivals such as Amsterdam Dance Event, Burning Man, Ultra Music Festival, BPM Festival, South By Southwest (SXSW), and Berlin Dance Music Event.

However, it would be foolish to say that his achievements have been purely confined to the club setting.
