Depois de uma noitada em um bar local, acompanhado por um casal de desconhecidos, veio o convite irresistível, passar o final de semana na fazenda do pai do rapaz. Era tudo que ele mais desejava para acabar com a monotonia da sua vida: estudante, desempregado, solteiro, morando com os pais e sem carro.
Agora na fazendo, diante de familiares e convidados, estava estupefato com tamanha riqueza dos presente e a apreensão pelo momento da caçado: o auge da festança. 
Até ali, não via nada de novo, até que o pai do rapaz bateu na taça de champanhe, para chamar a atenção de todos, e anunciou: 
- Este é mais um encontro anual que homenageia a hegemonia humana como o melhor caçador e o ganhador, ganha um prêmio de 1 milhão de dólares. As regras são as mesmas: pode-se utilizar qualquer coisa como arma, a caça tem quer ser abatida pelo caçador, todos devem se deslocar com seus próprios pés e não é permitido o uso de animais. Agora vamos nos preparar!
Ele não entendeu nada, mas as pessoas se afastaram e começaram a retornar com o que seriam as armas: rifle, espingarda, faca, facão, foice, porrete, etc.
Então ele pensou: que diabo de caçada é essa! E o que mais chamava a atenção, é que as pessoas iam chegando e ficando recuadas. Ele que não foi pegar arma porque não tinha e nem sabia do que se tratava. Então, permaneceu no mesmo lugar enquanto as pessoas chegavam.
Passado um momento, o dono da casa se aproximou dele e falou.

You may already know Steve Cobby: one of Hull's most talented residents, co-founder of Fila Brazillia and a chronic remixer/music maker. During 30 years of musical service he's forged remixes for acts as brilliantly diverse as Radiohead, Busta Rhymes and A Certain Ration. Déclassé, his own imprint is also home to 2014's critically acclaimed  Saudade and the upcoming (and brilliant)  Everliving LP.

"We Start Over" is an International Feel baby though - the result of Cobby and vocalist Trudie Dawn Smith combining for a bout of Balearic bliss. The ‘Private Acid Mix’ comes from two of house music's current treasures, Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer a.k.a Tuff City Kids, holding nothing back and dropping the 303 in a fine style with looped and twisted vocal snippets.

Ransom Note's recent signing Bawrut has been making a bit of a name for himself. His debut Ciquita, which was released earlier this year, has already been devoured by the likes of Jackmaster, Optimo and Boys Noize like a crazed bunch of acid fiends, and the summer season happened to be super fruitful for the Madrid based, Italian born tune-wrangler. We know, intense. It's a piping hot acidic screamer specially crafted for peak times on the dance floor and you get to listen to it right here, right now.

Panthera Krause - Heppy

Ian O’Donovan is considered one of the preeminent Irish producers of the moment.  After being discovered by Laurent Garnier in 2009, his music has gone from strength to strength, with continuous support not only from Laurent, but also industry heavyweights John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo.  His use of melody and uplifting chords is polished, and it is this skill that has seen him release on highly esteemed labels such as Bedrock and Virgin.

‘Forever Untold’ is easily one of his finest productions to date.  A simple arpeggio maintains the pulse while a grand symphony of elaborate melodies, harmonies, and organic-sounding piano and strings unfolds.  It is an emotional piece that is so characteristic throughout all of Ian’s work.

The remixers were carefully chosen for this project, and we can say with confidence that both of them truly delivered.  Satoshi Fumi’s interpretation is more upbeat and highly reminiscent of early Detroit House while Holland’s leading lady Estroe takes the song into progressive breaks territory.

Owing their foundations to traditional afrobeat (and named after a Fela Kuti song), the Brooklyn-based, female-fronted band, Underground System, has built an international reputation around a seamlessly executed stage show, astonishing wherever they go, and compelling crowds to move with unbridled verve. 

Robbing American “afrobeat” of its derivative formalism, Underground System continues to reinvent their brand of global dance music, remaining a force determined to recreate, redefine, and reconstruct. 

In September 2018 the band released their debut LP What Are You on Soul Clap Records, the much-loved New York City imprint known for their coupling of party-ready DJ culture and shapeshifting live acts. Departing from the extended forms formally associated with Underground System’s live performances and stylistic roots. Hints of afrobeat, no wave, world, electronic, contemporary classical, disco, house, and genre-defying elements combine tightly to reflect a self-aware, edgy, and cohesive statement not currently being made by any other band.

Following up on “What Are You,” Underground System returns to Soul Clap Records with a remix package & music video for their standout single “Just A Place” due out, June 7th. Full of heavy hitters and dancefloor bombs, leading off is Germany’s king of the remix, Gerd Janson, who gives us a powerful 80’s influenced main mix and a stripped back drum tool. Joining Gerd on the package, UK legend Greg Wilson, who joins forces with his son Che, along with Soul Clap, Midnight Magic, Sol Power All-Stars, and Underground System mastermind, Peter Matson.

Rydim is a mystery. Well, partly… One thing that isn’t a mystery is the high level of acid house authenticity at play here. Dark, heads-down strobe light seduction with the focus squared firmly on the soul of the dance. 

‘FOMO’ lives up to its name thanks to some ominous reese craft. Purring savagely throughout the track, leaving space for the sinewy 303s to dance wildly, it sucks you right in and spits you back out into the lasers at speed. Miss it, miss out. 

Don’t miss either Johannes Albert’s remix or the Bass Tool either; the former maintains the acid but re-shapes the bass into a warmer vibe while the latter strips everything back to that growing, heated bassline. Both will leave everyone in the house happy… 

Finally we have ‘Fairlight’. A homage to the mother of all samplers? That’s another mystery to solve. But we do know it’s another beauty from Ridym; naked beats and bass with crucial pads woven in for optimum breath-takes, every rush any dancer has ever felt since the 80s is saluted and celebrated right here. 'For the 25th instalment from House of Disco we see Munich duo and Toytonics regulars COEO explore pastures new with an EP bathed in the neon glow of the 1980’s. Inspired by cheap karate films and old Baywatch episodes the duo hone in on something new among all the old machines and familiar sounds.

‘Habibi Dub’, the opening track elevates the forgotten about pan-pipe to sunny perfection, perfect for slow motion running on that honeymoon in Hawaii. The second of three originals ‘Sharks, Lies & Videotape’ takes the dune buggy for a blast along the beach looking for trouble while the third offering ‘Joe Armstrong Theme’ defends your dojo from unwanted nighttime intruders.

Alongside the originals are two superb remixes from one of our favourite producers ‘Lauer’ and young Irish team ‘Mix & Fairbanks’'

Internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner Darin Epsilon is often referred to as a pioneer of Melodic House & Techno and Progressive House.  His Perspectives radio show and podcast reaches tens of thousands of listeners every month.  He launched his Perspectives Digital record label in November 2010 as an extension of the brand, further solidifying his influence and presence within the global dance community. In 2016 he was nominated for ‘Best Progressive House Artist’ in the annual Beatport Awards, and in 2011, John Digweed named him one of the winners in his DJ Competition sponsored by Bedrock and Ableton Live.  He also became the first artist ever to release a tutorial for producing Progressive House after teaming up with SonicAcademy.com
