In the ealry 90s Bobby moved to Albuquerque from Los Angeles. He was just starting to listen 
to electronic music and had found some old technics (with a wheel for pitch control) and started to collect records. 
There weren’t but a couple record stores in Albuquerque at the time so he would travel to other cities that he knew had records of the this new music called House. Although He didn’t really know how to mix them together yet, he was pretty fond of the music and how it made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
It wasn’t until Bobby made a trip to San Francisco in the summer in 94 that he truly understood the meaning of mixing records by watching and hovering over Dj Garth and Jeno playing at a dirty lil warehouse deep in the city, Two of his all time favorites djs to date.

Bobby went home with a whole new look on what he should be doing with these records. Bobby had met a few guys with the same interests and they started looking for venues to throw their own parties. 
It was new and intriguing. Bobby began to get involved with other promoters to build the New Mexico rave and club culture by helping to promote some of Albuquerque’s most remembered and still talked about events. “At that time there wasn’t very much going on so a handful of us with ideas came together with one common goal, give the kids place to "dance and be free". 
Needless to say, He’s been playing records and promoting events / club nights ever since with friends Dominic and Herman which formed the trio Native Soul Productions. 
They have had several djs / producers play their infamous night in Albuquerque titled MOVE Mondays from all over the world.

Bobby has had the honor of playing along side the likes of Luke Soloman, Alexander East, Doc Martin, Rescue, Jevne, Andrew Kelsey, Jonn Hawley, Garth, Jake Childs, Reverend Mitton, Q-Burns Abstract Message, Johnny Fiasco and so many more.

In 2005 he started to dabble in production, nothing to serious at the time. In 07 Midwest Hustle Music picked him up for a remix of Astropimps cut called "Lil Sompin". (Zaint mix)

In the beginning of 2007, his partner’s and him started their own digital label called Native Soul Recordings.
The guys have stood out as one of Americas top House Music labels out there and have gained several friends and colleagues that support the label full force.
Fast-forwarding to today, Bobby has released music on digital labels under his his alter ego Zaint and Bobby Breezy. You can find his work on all digital music boutiques such as beatport, juno, stompy, traxsource…etc. He has remix projects out now and releases forthcoming on a great selection of House Music labels. Have had a lot of people ask me over the past few months when the next Speed Bumps mix will be coming out.  Truth is, it takes so much time and playing around to come up with a series of tracks that work together for a long enough mix!  Finally came up with a set that I think flows really good, and hope you guys dig it!

Lots of great jazzy, groovy downbeat sprinkled with some dope underground hip hop jams.  Cant thank you guys enough for the support on the Speed Bumps series so far, hard to believe this is now Volume 8 in the series!  Still definitely a work in progress for me as this is a huge change from mixing house music, but I love the challenge!

Playing other peoples music for other peoples enjoyment since 1993.

Darius is a self proclaimed "House Addict".  He fell in love with the house sound as a teenager living in Montreal back in the early '90s when he would stay up late on Friday nights and record a dance mix show on Montreal radio.  He was hooked from then on.  He then proceeded to start mixing with one tape deck and a CD player and never looked back.  

When he moved to Vancouver in the late '90's, he started buying records almost daily and spent most of his free time at his favourite record stores at the time, Bassix and Mekanix records.  Over the next few years, Darius held various residencies and ran 2 club nights in Vancouver, playing alongside such talent as Lawnchair Generals and Johnny Fiasco, as well as playing at numerous after hours and raves.   After getting tired of both the late nights and politics in the scene, he decided it was time to hang up the headphones in the early 2000s, but the love of house music still burned inside of him as the years passed. 

In 2013 he decided he wanted to get back into DJ'ing and purchased a basic Pioneer controller and started to collect digital tracks again.  Over the past few years Darius has been busy making a name for himself in the underground scene with numerous guest mix appearances around the world on such labels as House Salad, Reason2Funk, Uglyhouse, Little Routine, Selecta Music, Leven Underground and House Jet Radio just to name a few.  He also started the very popular "SPEED BUMPS" mix series which showcases his love for hip hop and jazz as he shows his versatility as a DJ by blending mixes of nu jazz, hip hop instrumentals and acid jazz flavours reminiscent of Mark Farina's legendary series, Mushroom Jazz. 

He also launched the hugely successful "Soul Room Sessions" podcast showcasing the soulful and jazzy side of house music and downtempo beats with guest mixes from some of the biggest names in the game and the series is still going strong!

In 2017 Darius got his first taste of out of town gigging playing live shows all over the West Coast from his hometown in Vancouver, to San Francisco and Oakland.  Stay tuned for much more from him in the near future!
