This is an attempt at an atmopsheric remix of at least "Dark Side of Fate" (Touhou 10: Mountain of Faith) and "Xehanort" (Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep) done for a Pixel Mixers contest. I made it both as Dark Ambient and a stage theme at the same time. The contest theme was combining at least 2 different pieces from different series. I chose the former piece because I feel it's rather underrated and very epic for a stage 2 theme. I've been wanting to remix the latter piece for years. I may release an updated version of this track some day so it's a demo for now. Enjoy.

Another Dark Side Of Life  (Demo1)

This is mainly a remix of "Title Theme" (NBA Jam) done for a Pixel Mixers contest in November (the theme was Sports games and racing). Normally I couldn't care less about sports (including Basketball) but NBA Jam had a couple melodies that were too good not to remix. I intended to upload this on Thanksgiving but decided to go for Black Friday instead (mainly due to family reasons). Not sure if this one is done yet or if I should call it done but I've been working on this one all month. 

The lead and the piano that follows it are based on "Title Theme" (NBA Jam) and that's the main piece. A lot of the additional references (pieces incorporated) are to Kingdom Hearts boss themes (the series is a big influence on me) but those are mainly ear candy. The tempo is 150 (I feel that's a good speed for arcade boss fights) and everything's in Am (as usual). The drums are chosen for action and include a bit-crushed sliced break. I realized my recent pieces are a little similar to Jungle/DnB and took that as an influence though.

NBA Jam Darkness Edition (Demo)

Hi. This is an original tribute/requiem for my beloved kitty, Clover. She died on December 5th and I wrote this piece while grieving her. I wrote the parts by singing melodies into a mic and converted them to midi using FL Studio. Then I assigned the resulting melody and bassline to both a string section in Musescore 3.0 and some 8 bit plugins I had laying around. This created a 16-bit game theme perfect for my late pretty kitty. I was also inspired by a couple bosses from the Darius games while writing this but that's another story ... Please enjoy this demo.

Clover's Requiem (demo1)

Hi, hope everyone's doing well. After seeing Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and finding out this month's Pixel Mixers contest theme (games based off other media), I knew I had to make this. It's a remix of "Scott Pilgrim Anthem" (Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World) mixed with an original melody and meant as a character theme for Older Scott Pilgrim and a battle theme for Even Older Scott. Given the game's aesthetics and the series' frequent video game references, I felt a 16-bit approach (created with a mixture of Musescore instruments and 8 bit synths) was best. I wanted this to be a theme for both a master fighter and a slightly-idiotic slacker (both terms fit Scott and his future selves perfectly). Please give your feedback.

Older Scott Anthem (Demo1)

This is a remix of "Proto Man Theme" (Megaman 3) done as a battle theme for a Pixel Mixers contest this month. I used the lead (played on midi flute, midi oboe, and brass synth) and bass (played on a synth bass and a midi organ) from the original (though altered a bit) and threw in a custom counter melody (played on harp synths) and original drum part (the original's was too repetitive so I rewrote it from scratch). I like this theme and thought it was ripe for a good remix. It turned out much more cheerful than the melancholy source, didn't it? What do you guys think of it?

Prototype In Red

This is my fan-made KH3 boss theme for Xemnas. I tried to evoke most his character (from his preference for technology to his cold demeanor) and make it sound relatively synthetic. The name comes from his weapon (which is basically a light saber without the handles). I might write another Xemnas theme if I feel like it.

Aerial Blades

This is a fan-made KH3 character theme for Axel/Lea (Kingdom Hearts). I agree that it's odd that he doesn't have one of his own but Xigbar does. I tried to go for a theme fit for a fiery antihero like Axel. It was inspired by "The 13th Struggle" but isn't a remix of it (I didn't use even  a part of that piece). The idea came from the OCRemix forum (as did the idea to emphasize flutes)  and the name comes from KH2 (it's the key chain you get after a certain cutscene). The hook is rather arpeggio-laden but works.

For now this is the demo but I may keep it the way it is.

Bond Of Fire (Demo1)

This is my remix of "King Ghidorah" (Godzilla NES) I did for a contest at OCRemix's forums. I tried to convey a relatively powerful monster and a struggle. Sadly I had to sequence the tune's main melody from scratch but the similarities should be obvious enough. I added some of my own music  for kicks. I may return to this one if I get decent feedback in the contest. I went a little crazy but hey, it's a theme for a giant monster so ...

Chidora Omega (Demo1)

This is my remix of "Gothic Neclord" (Suikoden II) and "Lloyd Theme" (The Legend of Dragoon) with hints of "One Winged Angel" thrown in (some of the rhythms are based on the chanting) for Round 2. I went a little crazy but think it turned out fine. I put a lot into this one and feel no shame.

Ronald Poe - Dark Neclloyd (Neclord And Lloyd)

This is my remix of "Xehanort" (Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep) and "Master Porky" (Mother 3) done for the final round the 2016 RPG contest at OCRemix and mixed with my own music. I tired to make it seem fitting for a final battle. I put my all into this and have no regrets if I lose.

Ronald Poe - Evil Is Hammy (Xehanort And Porky)

This is my eccentric remix of "Felicia Theme" (DarkStalkers) and "Continue" (DarkStalkers). I did it as a request from JerseyDevil456 of OCRemix. I was going for a theme that fits the beautiful cat lady while keeping a mixture of an atmospheric battle theme and dark background music. I'm not keeping the meowing of the original and am doing it my way. I also based it heavily off the Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 version of "Felicia Theme". I did the melody by ear so it might not be accurate (the change of the melody from C Minor to C Major doesn't help either).

Felicia's Determination (Demo)

This is an original character theme for Erwin Smith (Attack on Titan). I tried to write a theme fitting for the courageous and sympathetic leader of the Survey Corps. I went for a mixture of melancholy Trance (done my way) and a military march (hence the synth brass and frequent snare rolls). Enjoy

Courage and Duty (Demo)

This is a remix of "Darkness of the Unknown (Armored Xemnas)" (Kingdom Hearts 2), "Xemnus" (Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days), "Disappeared" (Kingdom Hearts 2).vI did it in a faux-orchestral style with major help of GamerOfTheWinds (who did flute lead and Oboe) and Kdub225 (who did the drums). I wanted to make it at theme for the Manga version of Xemanas. I thought it turned out great and wanted to share it. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Nothingness is Eternal (Basic Demo1)

This is my Dark Ambient tribute to Kouetsu Kirijo (Persona 3) and Rikiya Bushijima (Zombie Revenge). Both are good games I'd recommend trying out (Second one is an awesome beat-em-up but rather challenging and rare). I wanted to mix the cultist vibes of the former with the toughness of the latter. I made this with Musescore and some reverb from Audacity. This is my last piece of 2019.
