This is my live DJ mix of the songs on Robert Hoods 1994 classic album which spawned a whole movement - Minimal Nation. The album was remastered with a couple of extra cuts included. I absolutely love the grooves and funk in these productions, which still rock today and are such fun to mix and use. 

I'm recording these DJ mixes live from my studio in one take, mistakes and all, of albums and artists that inspire my own productions or nights out.

Alongside Jeff Mills and Mad Mike, Hood is one of the original members of Detroit techno group Underground Resistance. His style is characterised by minimalist and experimental tones with an assertive groove. He is also Floor Plan. Lose yourself in his back catalogue.

The "Acid House" album was my introduction to the techno legend that is Mark Broom. For me, it has become a benchmark for an album of club tracks. The production and ideas still stand up now and can easily hold their own in any DJ set. No mean feat in the technology driven dance music world. So it seemed obvious to slot this one in early for my "Inspirations" DJ Mix series. It was a blast and rather cheekily slotted in a couple of my own productions from my house/disco collaboration project - S.N.U.S (with Paul Johan), as we often reference the master.
