Eeriærmor (E:Æ:R) is the very personal and immersive new sound mapping motif of Kevin Gan Yuen (Sutekh Hexen, CTE, etc.). 

Conceptually E:Æ:R honors memory and the moment via granular synthesis sculpture, utilizing detailed dynamic frequency layering techniques.
This stunning full-length debut offering is a powerful emotional imprint, guiding the listener from states of liminal ecstasis to expressing unification of beauty and brutality.

EERIÆRMOR explores the space between memory and the present moment, sculpting sound with raw emotional energy and a meticulous attention to atmospheric detail. The album’s seven tracks create a deeply immersive experience, moving from states of liminal ecstasy to contemplative meditations on the mysteries of existence. Each track is a testament to Yuen’s dedication to atmosphere and emotional intensity.

The creation of EERIÆRMOR emerged from a period of deep contemplation and personal reassessment for Kevin Gan Yuen. After stepping away from music for sometime, Yuen found himself re-engaging with unused musical equipment, experimenting with unfamiliar configurations, and channeling his emotional turmoil into sound. What began as a creative experiment evolved into a transformative musical process, helping Yuen reconnect with his art and himself.

“Through strict parameters and the conviction to ‘create something from nothing,’ music healed me once again,” Yuen shares. EERIÆRMOR represents both a healing process and a new creative chapter for Yuen, blending experimental electronic music with a newfound mastery of guitar techniques.

Eeriærmor - Now The Wood Flows - Excerpt

Undirheimar conjures from the formless void musical talismans for the listener to experience through limited human senses, and, for those more attuned to Thursian forces, beyond them. Each spell is a poisonous offering whose intrinsic purpose is to invade the cosmic realm and spread Thursastafir (Thursian primordial knowledge). These workings manifest what is alien to the demiurge’s creation, and thus, as the eleven venomous rivers from Hvergelmir, infect the roots of the cosmic pillar. The mediums used to disseminate the eitr from the outer-worlds are somber and arcane sounds and vibrations, Thursian gnosis through sonic sorcery.  Within the sorcerous craft utilised to convey Thursastafir, the use of Mongolian, Tibetan, and Siberian style throat chanting is strongly apparent. Utilising the raw power of vibration and the primal technique of repetitive mantras, Undirheimar channels the magical potency of primordial sound from both written texts as well as wordless galdr. The aim is not to recreate a specific cultural technique, but rather to derive inspiration from existing practices, and through personal shamanic working, bring forth Undirheimar’s own stream of devotional and magical praxis.

Why the name Dark Side of Synth? Because it’s cool and it sums up my fascination with the dark side and with synthesizers. Dark side not just as negative but also as obscure, unknown, unexplored...

Don’t worry, you won’t be finding only darksynth, heavy, scary and sad tunes and tones here but quite a wide range and lots of happy, upbeat things too. Again, it is just a name – not a mission statement set in stone forever.
