For such a long time I wanted to work with Mister V. His output has been a major influence for me. Especially “Jus’ Dance” was a game changer. So I was very happy that the legend Mr. V himself joined in to collaborate on the 3rd Eye EP for our own imprint RISE MUSIC.

We started working on this piece about two years back, when the world was still quite different. DJT was still in charge (?!) in America and there was no pandemic around. Nevertheless Mr. V’s lyrics kept their magic, their timeless touch and somehow became even more relevant.
3rd Eye is about staying true to yourself, not getting overrun by the madness around you and about trying to make the world a better place.
No matter if it is about resisting autocratic, bigot and racist tendencies in the government or crazy conspiracy theories. We all carry responsibilities for the greater good of all of us. We do share the view that a crisis always also provides opportunities: For change and for the better.

My original version carries this tension that we all felt in the last years. The energy culminates in a nervous arpeggio and a catchy acidish hook on top of a quite classic house beat. After pushing you forward with grooves the tune turns into a string ladden ray of light.
The type of mood that we are all so desperately antcipating.
Everyone who’s not so much into spoken words will be happy to hear my stripped down Raw Beat Version. It is quite a bit more groove focused, powerful and with an overall feel that I like to call African Techno.

On top of that I am very happy to have Amsterdam’s William Djoko in the house for two amazing remixes. He delivered exactly his type of groove-laden house and rugged, motor-city techno (sprinkled with his famed frisky footwork of course) that I was hoping for. He is flirting with playful, cut for the club and trippy, mischievous percussions. Pure power!

Hailing from the Canary Islands and fast becoming one of house music’s most revered up and coming producers, Pablo Fierro has seen a lot of success since inaugurating his music career at the ripe age of 16. When he is not releasing on his own label Vida Records the young Spaniard can be found on some of the industry’s most commendable imprints, including both Noir Music and Defected Records, and his latest release is dropping on one of electronic music’s most recognised soulful brands; Soul Heaven Records. ‘How Could I’ maintains the calibre consistent within the imprints string of releases to date by staying true to the soul agenda conceived over a decade ago between the collaborative minds of ‘Little’ Louie Vega and original label owner Oli White. The Spaniard’s production is overflowing with praise house vocals, touches of electric guitar and upbeat sunshine vibes that signifies Tenerife’s jovial take on the deep house paradigm. <b>Elliot Rosoff (producer)</b>: “I am primarily a concert violinist and have played on records by people as diverse as Philip Glass, Deodato and LL Cool J. In the early ‘80s, I had a studio, Opal Studios and our engineer Andy Langston did a lot of R&B and disco production - our projects included a disco version of Jesse Green’s "Nice And Slow." On "Ain’t No Way," the singer was a girl called Brenda Watts – she had released a few records beforehand like "Who Needs A Love Like That" but seemed to disappear from music after Opal. I remember that we received great feedback and a lot of club play across New York.” <b>Phil Barr (writer)</b>: “During the ‘70s, Elliot was one of the few people in New York that had a 24-track studio. ‘Ain’t No Way’ had originally been written as a hard rock track - Elliot liked it and we started working on an R&B version of it which he put out on his label, Silver Cloud.”

South African top talent Vanco joins the Afrocentric Records stable with his dynamic 'Reflections EP', featuring 2 original collaborations with local vocalists Njabulo Seh on 'Lutho' and Thandi Draai on 'Walls'. 'Lutho' is about a love lost and sees Njabulo belt out a heartfelt melancholy vocal that glides over Vanco's deep, cinematic Afro House grooves. 'Walls' is deep, percussive and ripe with earthy beats and sweeping synthscapes as Thandi serves her soulful tones, waxing lyrical on breaking down the walls of a broken heart.
