Rock_Flexible - Geburtstag (August-Mix)

This track has quite a story. The basic playback piano, synths and drums have been composed and pre-produced by OESJ (Ralf Wadephul + Peter Pasch) and sent to me to work out some guitars. The whole music was intended as a vocal track with a female singer. 

Before I really started to work with the song I played a bit with the core of the song, and made a whole new story out of it, adding guitar layers and also sung on it. Lacking lyrics I used the lyrics of 'Der König von Thule' Gretechen sung in Goethes "Faust" ...
Of course this version was never meant to be published and was just an 'Outtake' on my harddisk. Untill the other day, where I asked the OESJ guys for the permission to publish it as an kinda 'cover version' of the song ... :)

This is a series of ambient sound tracks I did with KORG's Monotron Delay analogue synth fed into a Korg Kaoss Pad Mini which also did the live recording.
Each track is one session played live without any cut, break or edit. Its just playing with the knobs while recording ... 
The only edit is an static mastering chain in Ableton. No editing or any track efx.

When Mirjam sung on my playback 'On my knees' -->  "https://soundcloud.com/mirjam-keijnemans/rock-flexible-and-mirjam-keijnemans" we agreed that it could be a nice idea to start with an collab-song together. Mirjam sent me a guitar track and one vocal track. Soon I laid out the background vocals by shifting parts of the original vocals. The song has no BPM because Mirjam played it free flowin' without click track. A job for a real drummer, so I asked Peter (the drummer of https://soundcloud.com/oesj) and he was so kind to play his excellent drums for this track. Then I added bass guitar and some guitar adlibs here and there ... that's it. We hope you like it and enjoy listening so much as we do :)
I have to say it was an absolute pleasure to work with Mirjam on this track and I thank her for the draft track and her patience. I also thank Peter for accepting and mastering the challenge! Thank you all, I am blessed!

Stefan: When I heard that one of Mirjam's potential collabs went wrong I asked her to send me the vocal layout she already had done - to safe it from the trash-bin. I played around with it a bit and after adding triangles, loads of hand-percussion, whistles and some guitarring this medieval touched song came up ... :) 
I think this is a very nice new home for Mirjam's warm vocals! :)

Mirjam : When I first heard what Rock-Flexible had made underneath my voice....my mouth dropped wide open....no words, I almost cried....

Revisited a recent backing track arrangement that I had created and played along with Fender Squier JazzMaster. Weekend Contemporaneous Instrumental Fun. Guitars that I used were my Fender Squier 60's Vibe JazzMaster electric for Lead, and my Fender Tele 60's Vintera for part of backing track mix, along with BIAB Backing Track Drums arrangement that I had pieced together and edited that included a Bass track, as well.
Rock Flex:
Clean Swedish Hagstrom Viking in the verses and Charvel in the Choruses. All played over an Eleven Rack model. No further efx, all in hands!
Production, Mix and Master in Logic Pro.

Rock Flexible is a spare-time guitar player, multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer based in Berlin, Germany.
