Ghost Complex is a sci-fi narrative concept album. Genevieve Vincent and Chris James imagined a post apocalyptic world where, in a last ditch effort, humanity tasks two A.I. generated beings to download a sequential set of songs designed for them by the PETAL program (Planetary Escape Through Artificial Learning) with the intention of starting civilization over. Humans designed these songs as fables, to tell their story and teach their human way of thinking and feeling.

The Ghost Complex is not only the beings' self awareness as empty vessels,  but also the satellite complex in which they are contained, orbiting a regenerating earth. But with fables telling the stories of who we were, will the beings see us how we see ourselves, or want to create something else?

"Arcade" is an ethereal synth pop track with a strong 80s influence. The detailed synth production aims to replicate the immersive experience of playing a video game. The track's synth hook features the Juno 106, a staple in 80s bands and film scores. It pays homage to the era of the rise of home video games and vibrant arcades, capturing the nostalgic essence within its resonant tones.

Lyrically, "Arcade" delves into the concept of getting lost in a video game and consequently losing touch with the real world. It explores the contrast between the virtual and non-virtual realms, as well as the allure of seeking refuge in an elaborate, controllable gaming universe. The lyrics suggest that the protagonist has become enticed by the idea of immersing themselves in a virtual reality, where they can have control, as opposed to facing the complexities and uncertainties of real-life human connections.

The inspiration for the song's lyrics draws from various sources, including movies such as "Her," "Ender's Game," and "Ready Player One," as well as the Black Mirror episode "San Junipero." These works influenced the exploration of themes related to the blurred line between virtual and real experiences, the potential consequences of over-reliance on technology, and the desire to escape from a fragmented reality.

It sheds light on the deceptive nature of appearances, unmasking the profound emptiness that can lie behind a manipulative individual's facade. Drawing parallels to the haunting gaze of psychopaths, the lyrics paint a vivid picture of eyes that peer beyond everything and everyone. In the larger context of the album's storyline, "Cult" unveils one of the primary catalysts for the downfall of the fictional world of "Ghost Complex"—a pervasive reliance on fallacies leading to catastrophic consequences. Inspired by films like "American Psycho" and “Wall street,” the song boldly confronts the overwhelming influence of the cult of greed, reigning above all other considerations.
