Ever since we stumbled upon his track 'Xmas in July' a few months back, we have been hooked to the sounds of silo. Hailing from Leuven, Belgium, this prolific artist has that natural flair and vibe in his music which simply cannot be taught. There's a certain sparseness and precision in his arrangements, but yet they sound incredibly voluminous and fluid. 'Lagoon' is one such example, and it has found a permanent spot in our crates.
More importantly, his addition into our artist roster caps off what has been a rather inspirational year of growth for us at DTW, and we really are looking forward to building this movement in a greater way with our family of like-minded souls.
Welcome to the universe of silo.

Woodwire from Lyon, Paris is about to release a brand new project called "Oddyssea" on Cosmonostro.

The journey might be described best as a mix between traveling and odd things. After his previous more trip-hop oriented project, some cinematic ideas developed in the process.

The song "L’Etage" was created during the weekend behind a desk from a more producer perspective, compared to the four others songs. The 24-year-old fellow Lyonnaise producer Oxidia did a very nice rework of this song, adding a little umph to the original. When we were asked if we wanted to premiere this bonus track, it only took us a few seconds to say yes.

Born and raised in The Netherlands, producer Beatsofreen has gained major attention by releasing his first well-received beattape “Future Memories” back in 2011 at the age of 17. 
After a successful collaboration (Global Soul EP) with Medaforacle (USA), he was signed to the Darker Than Wax family, celebrating his new EP “Coloured Dreams” (2013), a little tribute to the late & great J Dilla. With his alterego Stan Forebee , Beatsofreen also creates more jazz-orientated beats, and most recently landed himself a feature on Okayplayer for his remix of Flying Lotus' 'Siren song'.

The process that led to ‘Dimensions EP’ engaged different sides of him as a well-rounded artist – growing as his music developed from straight Dilla-minded beats to more electronic songs.

He approached this first as a musician, and then a producer – working with less samples and recording live acoustic instruments – something which has always been part of work for film and radio but was never included in personal production own music, until this project.

While creating this EP had the intention of an electronic influence, it is balanced off by an earthy jazz element – he began to delve more into the acoustic-folk sound and songwriting.

The Dimensions EP is about bringing these different elements together. It stands for seeing things from new perspectives, for experiencing life's diversity. Everything is possible: it's all around you; inside, on the outside. You just have to find the dimensions, take the walls down, and bloom.

Senpu -  Give Me Company

You may heard of Senpu from his earlier releases on Laruche or Mellow Orange, but if you have not, perhaps this is a good time to get acquainted. 
Senpu is a 22 years young Parisian beatmaker who started his musical path when his parents enrolled him at the conservatory where he could learn to play guitar, violin and piano. 

At the age of 17 he felt the need to create his own music, and after performing live on stage a few times, he decided to focus more on making instrumentals, sampling records from Michael Jackson, Duke Ellington, Bob Marley to Stevie wonder.
"Give Me Company" is a story about his love for travelling, and to discover new cultures. It is imbued with an ample range of percussions and vocal samples, all of which are part of his field recordings - We definitely appreciate the intricate approach to his craft.
