Session - Darkfloor Sound Podcast Mix Series

Based in Pittsburgh, Geoff @Cutups Maddock has been carving up sounds since the mid 90s. His name and styles comes out of an appreciation of the cut-ups technique of creation employed by the Dadaists, Brion Gysin and William S. Burroughs.

It's as he says "how it meshes into the wild, collage nature of sample-everything culture, both in music, the net and life in the late 20th century."

Maddock's mix for our In Session series is a darkside ride through outsider electronics and experimental sound. Electro meets glitch bass and precision drum percussion.

Darkfloor 72 - Voidloss - All The Way To Hell

Amphior (@amphior) follows up his appearance on Mantis Radio 296 (2019) w/ an exclusive session mix of ambient and downtempo tracks. Entitled 'Catharsis' it marks his new album 'Another Presence' that dropped last month on Italian label Glacial Movements. Once again the Danish producer illuminates through sound. 

'Another Presence' was recorded during the long and isolated time many of us experienced during lockdowns in 2020. Mathias Hammerstrøm found himself going through as he puts it, a bit of a personal hell. His mix is compiled with this in mind, "attempting to blend together the atmosphere of his album w/ similar inward vibrations, sometimes more angsty, sometimes fading into empty space."

Voidloss - The Sharpened Blade

Matt started playing records back in 1996, after taking influences from the UK techno clubs at the time, The Orbit, Atomic Jam, and House of God. He played at a few parties including the Total Eclipse festival in 1999 and various other free parties in the south of England. In 2001 decided to leave the UK and go traveling, playing at some of the free European festivals that summer. During this time-traveling, he met up with a group of like-minded Dutch people and joined their sound system. Since this moment he’s been organizing free parties in Holland and traveling through Europe with their sound system, visiting many free festivals. In 2006 Matt started his label Tonal Research as an outlet for his own productions, but at the same time was building up a passion for dubstep.
