Hailing (in part) from the Welsh seaside, the Darkhouse Family duo of Metabeats and Don Leisure, have so far released two EPs on the Earnest Endeavours label, serving up their particularly slanted mixture of hard hitting instrumental hip hop. ‘Brockwild’, the stand out from their last EP of the same name, is perfect place to start if you’re looking at them here for the very first time; a track that showcases their tough drum programming with a stringently drum & bass sound palette. It’s a factor that gets more and more evident in the music the two producers make together - they’re both active in other areas and have long been found embracing a lot of different styles - and their DJ sets often reflect that, jumping tempos from the drawling to the kinetic whenever and wherever the occasion calls for it. 

With a new video dropping shortly and a five hour show in Istanbul on the horizon, the lads kindly put together this short stonker of a mixtape that’s sure to get you accustomed to the sort of styles you can expect when they drop into Room Two on the Friday of our 15th Birthday weekend. Featuring the worldwide exclusive airing of Widows MC, Jams’ ‘Tacos De Papas’ (a track you might recognise as ‘Elephant Large’ from the DHF duo’s last EP) it really is a half hour of power and featuring cuts from Biggie, Bauer and Machinedrum it’s also the perfect insight into the Darkhouse Family makeup.
