LORRIDI is a Folk/Viking Power Metal one-man band by Jan Magne Garte. Taking inspiration from the sagas of the viking age and norse mythology, Garte creates vivid images of the old gods and warriors through his music and lyrics.

Born in Norway, 1971. At the age of 16, Jan Magne Garte played bass in different bands starting in the mid '80s. Growing in popularity and opening for some of the most popular Norwegian Rock bands at the time. By the early 2000s, Garte started expanding his repertoire by singing songs himself and switching from bass to guitar.

Around the same time his parental duties would start to take the focus from the music, and his career as a musician   took a hiatus for almost two decades. Now after all this time, his love for making music has truly rekindled and the old musician has returned. 

All of his music is heavly influenced by the songs of his youth, from genres such as '80s hard rock, heavy metal, thrash, but also taking notes from the next generation of musicians.

Garte also has another solo project under his own name. 
All tracks were composed, arranged, recorded and mastered by Garte himself.

I’m Astrid Marie Hagen, a truck driver with a passion for the open road and a taste for bold, unforgettable moments. With long blonde hair, sharp eyes, and a touch of edge, I own every mile. My playlist? It’s all about those deep, sultry beats and slow-burning tracks that keep the night alive. Rock, blues, and a bit of heat fill my cab, turning every journey into something more. The Failed States is a creative project based in an aged care facility in the leafy suburb of Wantirna, Melbourne Australia. 

Initially a recreational outlet, allowing residents to express themselves through music, poetry and napping, The Failed States has since taken on a life of it own. 

Anguished songs about other residents' grandchildren being too loud at the table tennis table, or laments of lukewarm, semi-set pudding were gradually replaced by powerful pieces about climate change, urban decay, relationship breakdown and stolen dentures.

There are no permanent members of The Failed States, we live on, as age, petty rivalries, and forgetfulness takes us all.

The Failed States tries to perform in the common room on the second Tuesday of every month, after lunch.
