Solid Steel (20th March) Having released debut album Sleep back in 2013 on Brighton based ‘Wolf Music’ Medlar steps up to the Solid Steel plate with a mix of 100% unreleased & exclusive tracks. He tells us this mix is constructed from 'Some unused tracks and distractions from the last 5 years, excerpts of interviews with some of the artists who've inspired me, and field recordings from some places I've travelled since music became my job.’ The result is an hour (and then some) of sublime, soulful funk and house grooves. Look out for new forthcoming releases on the aforementioned Wolf, as well as a collaborative release on 'Delusions Of Grandeur’, and remixes for Andreya Triana and  the Mr Bongo label.

Solid Steel (10th April) We welcome New York resident Nick Hook in Hour 1. His recent Collage v.1 EP on Ninja Tune and Serato Pressing , saw Hook collaborate with a score of talents from P-Funk legend Bernie Worrell to 808 originator Egyptian Lover and two of hip hop's freshest voices, Kilo Kish and Bodega BAMZ, to name just a few. He told us;

"I am very humbled and honored to be a part of the ninja tune family as it's been a constant source of inspiration since i started listening to electronic music. 
This mix i really wanted to display how fortunate i am to also be inspired by my friends and peers music. For the most part i have worked with everyone on this list and i don't take it for granted..

Solid Steel in association with Serato (12th June) We welcome Vessels to Solid Steel this week following the release of their album Dilate earlier this year. They have a busy summer of shows ahead of them, kicking of with Oslo in London on 17th June alongside previous Solid Steel 'Mix of the Year' winner Alex Banks. They told us;

"We've put together a mixtape of some of our favourite melodic techno and electronica from the last few years, including an absolute cracker from Alex Banks (who we're playing with in London soon), 'Amya' from our Lee's solo project Jinjé (which just recently appeared for remixing on the Ninja Jamm app.) and some classic Tortoise thrown in for good measure. Solid Steel in association with Serato (1st January) We kick off the New Year with Seb Wildblood and a mix to ease you in after the night before. He told us;
"I run a small South East London based record label called Church, over the last three years we've released artists such as FYI Chris, Laurence Guy, Ishmael, Chaos In The CBD amongst others. The greatest joy for me aside from writing music is introducing people to music. Over the last couple of years I feel I've began to make exactly what i want to be making and am now comfortable playing some of my own tracks in DJ sets, this a new and really exciting feeling for me. With this in mind I decided to focus the mix mainly on my own productions and forthcoming material from Church, it also includes a few records of the moment I couldn’t resist adding in, featuring Ross From Friends, Leif, Mall Grab, Takuya Matsumoto & More. The mix was recorded at my home from home, Corsica Studios."

After the success of Aboutface's debut EP on Amirali's Dark Matters Imprint in October of 2015, Aboutface performed his project 'Vaga' the River Wye as a metaphorical representation of the journey of humanity, live at Freerotation (2016), the performance was also broadcast on NTS Radio on 16/7/16. Following this mesmerising and exploratory project, the young London based composer and DJ returns with a new release. 'In The Tepid Shine We Breathe' is due out on the 19th of September.

The three track EP opens with 'In The Tepid Shine We Breathe feat. Darker', Aboutface's subtle skill imbues his work with a stillness and precision even when blending analogue forms of media 'such as 1/4" tape, Cassettes and VHS as a part of the sonic palette,' he is able to create additional depth in his music. Darker aka Jenna Whelan's Vocals gently break the tumbling elements with an airy beauty.

‘There Must Be Chaos Within You To Give Birth To A Dancing Star', the second track on the EP showcases Aboutface's use of field recordings, light rain spatters the ground as a warbling synth line gradually becomes bolder. Eventually this is joined by a simple drum pattern, somehow managing to maintain the eery melancholia Aboutface is so adept at creating.

Redshape steps up for a remix of the title track. He highlights the vocal sample before rearranging the drums into a punchier and more streamlined rhythm. The track morphs into a dance floor heater, perfectly complimenting the slower pace of the originals with a faster and straightforward approach.

Since his first successes as a DJ and producer, Marco Tegui has been drawn to the most renowned dance floors of the world - from the Winter Music Conference in Miami, via Ibiza and to Berlin. Mobis homage to the blue hour – Tiefgang with 10th release ‘oben*unten’

The Berne based label Tiefgang established itself in its 6 years of existence through unique off-space events as well as rowdy club nights.

Responsible for the upcoming release N°10 is the label-cofounder Matthias Gähwiler aka Mobi. oben*unten is a dedication to the blue hour - the time before dawn - and it’s dreamy and melancholic atmosphere.

Both tracks are characteristic for Mobis style of production, because of their deep but still organic texture. oben is a straight forward clubtrack, while unten shows the spherical side of the producer.

Tiefgang throws a Sunday-dance April 15th at Klub Kabitel Bern as a releaseparty.

Bio Mobi

Born and raised in Lucerne, Mobi learned djing in his hometown. Soon moved to Berne, where he joined the Tiefgang Family in 2013 and one year later co-founded the imprint Tiefgang Recordings. Besides his 3 upcoming release on Tiefgang he produced a variety of remixes and edits.

Mobi’s into deep organic sounds and produces warm and melodic tracks. As a DJ, Mobi is searching for moments of strong and driving tension, only to release them an instant later into a floating grooves.
